Overnight at The Chow Kit - an Ormong Hotel (or similar).

DAY 2: KUALA LUMPUR - LEISURE DAY

Kuala Lumpur is located at the confluence of the Kelang and Gombak rivers. It is the capital of Malaysia and the country's commercial, economic, financial and cultural centre. It is one of Asia's fast-developing emerging cities, and has established itself as a dynamic metropolis. Kuala Lumpur is a city of contrasts, combining modernity, cosmopolitanism and old-world charm. Colonial buildings, temples, minarets and domes coexist harmoniously with skyscrapers. The famous Petronas Towers, among the tallest in the world, dominate the skyline.

The abundant vegetation makes it a veritable garden city, and at night its illuminated buildings turn it into a veritable city of light. A multicultural city, Kuala Lumpur offers a unique blend of customs, traditions, colourful festivals, cultures and a cuisine that is as varied as it is tasty. This dynamic city has much to offer all its visitors.

Points of interest:
Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Negara Planetarium, Kuala Lumpur Telecommunication Tower, Masjid Jamek Mosque, Royal Palace, KLCC Aquarium, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, ...

Optional and with supplement: Kuala Lumpur with Petronas Towers observation platform & Batu Caves

Breakfast included and overnight at The Chow Kit - an Ormong Hotel (or similar).

DAY 4: CAMERON HIGHLANDS

Cameron Highlands is Malaysia's largest mountain resort, covering an area of 712 km². Located at the north-western tip of the state of Pahang, it is bordered to the north by Kelantan and to the west by Perak. Cameron Highlands is approximately 90 km from Ipoh, 200 km from Kuala Lumpur and 355 km from Kuantan, the capital of Pahang. It is also the smallest district in the state. Discovered in 1885 by Sir William Cameron, the region consists of three districts: Ringlet, Tanah Rata (administrative centre) and Ulu Telom, with eight sub-districts nestled between 1,100 and 1,600 metres above sea level: Ringlet, Tanah Rata, Brinchang, Bertam Valley, Kea Farm, Tringkap, Kuala Terla and Kampung Raja.

Optional and with supplement: boat trip on the Tahan River (Lata Berkoh & Fish Sanctuary)

Breakfast included and overnight at Avillion Cameron Highlands (or similar).

Jour 5 : Kuala Lumpur - Krabi

  • Leave Cameron Highlands to Kuala Lumpur and then head to Krabi.

Breakfast included and overnight at Tup Kaek Sunset Beach Resort - SHA Plus (or similar).

DAYS 6 AND 7: KRABI

The province of Krabi is a popular seaside destination in southern Thailand on the Andaman Sea. It is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and impressive limestone rock formations known as karsts. Krabi has many magnificent beaches, offering spectacular views at sunrise and sunset. There are over 150 islands in the waters around Krabi.

There are many activities available in the area, including snorkelling, swimming, sunbathing, rock climbing, white water rafting, scuba diving, kayaking and paddle boarding. Weather permitting, you can also visit the nearby national parks for jungle trekking.

Places of interest: Sai Thai, Krabi River Marina, Ao Thalane Pier.

Breakfast included and overnight at Tup Kaek Sunset Beach Resort - SHA Plus (or similar).

Day 8: Khao Sok

Magnificent sandstone and shale rocks rise to between 300 and 600 metres above sea level. The park is criss-crossed from north to south by a limestone mountain range whose highest point reaches 950 metres. This mountain range is exposed to monsoon rains from both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, making it one of the wettest regions in the country, with an annual rainfall of 3,500 mm. Heavy rainfall and falling leaves have caused the limestone rocks to erode, giving rise to the impressive karst formations visible today.

Breakfast included and overnight at Montania Lifestyle Hotel (ex Khaosok Royal Cliff Resort and Spa) (or similar).

DAYS 9 TO 11: KHAO LAK

Khao Lak is a series of villages, now oriented towards tourism, located mainly in the district of Takua Pa and partly in the district of Thai Mueang, in the province of Phang Nga, Thailand. The name ‘Khao Lak’ literally means ‘Lak Mountain’. Lak Mountain is one of the main peaks in the small, hilly mountain region of Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park. It is popular for its serene ambience and as a departure point for scuba diving cruises to the Similan Islands. Khao Lak lies to the north of Phuket Island, along the Phetkasem Road, one of Thailand's four main motorways.

The main tourist attractions are the Lampi waterfall, a very beautiful waterfall, the Khao Lak-Lam Ru national park, the Chong Fah waterfall, Lake Cheow Lan and the Rachaphrapha dam, which offer superb views of the lake and the limestone ridges, as well as Khao Sok National Park, where you can enjoy nature activities such as jungle trekking on foot or on elephant back, visiting waterfalls, and rafting or canoeing on the river.

Place of interest: Khuekkhak.

Breakfast included and overnight at Outrigger Khao Lak Beach Resort - SHA Extra Plus (or similar).

  • Cameron Highlands: A tranquil retreat with scenic tea plantations, cooling climate, and rich biodiversity.

Culinary culture:

Malaysia’s cuisine reflects its diverse population, with influences from Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures. The result is a rich tapestry of flavours, from spicy curries to sweet pastries. Nasi lemak, often considered the national dish, features fragrant coconut rice, spicy sambal, and a variety of accompaniments. Street food lovers will delight in char kway teow, a smoky stir-fried noodle dish, or roti canai, a flaky Indian flatbread served with curry. Don’t miss the unique Malay dessert, kuih, a selection of colourful, steamed cakes.

Dive deeper:

Beyond the well-trodden paths of Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi, Malaysia offers a wealth of hidden gems. Discover the rainforest in Taman Negara, one of the world’s oldest tropical forests, or the eco-resorts of Borneo’s Sabah region, home to the elusive orangutan. Explore the indigenous cultures of the Iban tribe in Sarawak or the Malay villages nestled within the countryside, where ancient traditions and hospitality thrive.

Good to know:

Malaysia operates on Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). English is widely spoken, but learning a few words in Bahasa Malaysia will enrich your experience. The best time to visit is during the dry season from March to October, although the west coast enjoys year-round sunshine. Transport within cities is convenient with an extensive network of buses, trains, and taxis.

Thailand

Thailand, a country rich in history and culture, stretches over 1,500km from north to south, offering an alluring mix of tranquil beaches, lush landscapes, and vibrant cities. From the bustling capital of Bangkok to the historical ruins of Ayutthaya, the country's diverse regions invite discovery. The southern coast, with the picturesque islands of Phuket and the stunning regions of Krabi and Khao Lak, offers a perfect escape for those seeking natural beauty and relaxation.

Must-sees:

  • The ancient city of Ayutthaya, where centuries-old ruins tell the story of Thailand's imperial past
  • The crystal-clear waters and white-sand beaches of Phuket, ideal for both relaxation and water sports
  • The dramatic limestone cliffs and emerald green waters of Krabi, a haven for nature enthusiasts

Culinary culture:

Thailand’s culinary culture is a reflection of its diverse regions and rich history. From the spicy curries of the north to the fresh seafood dishes of the south, every meal is an exploration of flavours. Street food is a key part of Thai life, with stalls offering fragrant pad thai, succulent satay, and tantalising mango sticky rice. In coastal regions like Krabi and Phuket, seafood lovers can enjoy fresh catches prepared in traditional styles, paired with local herbs and spices for a distinctive taste.

Dive deeper:

For those looking to explore beyond the tourist hotspots, Thailand offers a wealth of hidden gems. Visit the tranquil Pai in the north, known for its serene landscapes and local hill tribes, or explore the lesser-known beaches of Koh Lanta. Thailand’s temples, such as Wat Pho in Bangkok, offer a peaceful retreat where history and spirituality blend seamlessly.

Good to know:

The official currency is the Thai Baht (THB), and the country enjoys a tropical climate, with a dry season from November to April and a wet season from May to October. While public transport is available, taxis and tuk-tuks are a common way to get around. For an authentic experience, consider visiting during the quieter shoulder seasons to avoid the crowds.
