Your Itinerary —

Day 1: Arrive in Mumbai
Upon arrival at Mumbai airport, you will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Once a cluster of seven islands, Mumbai was conceded to the Portuguese by the local ruler in the 16th century. Later, the English acquired it when it was given as a dowry to King Charles II when he married a Portuguese princess. Today cosmopolitan Mumbai is a commercial nerve centre apart from being one of India’s busiest ports. It is an industrial metropolis as well as the textile and film capital of the country. The earlier inhabitants of this place, the Kolis, have given the city its Indian name MUMBAI, after the Mother Goddess Mumba, worshipped by them. 

Today it is renowned not only as the country’s financial nerve centre but also as an important centre of theatre, art, music and dance. The cosmopolitan population of the city consists of people from all over the country. Mumbai is a city steeped in tradition, and a rich historical past, it is yet a city where contemporary scientific and business practices flourish. A vibrant, colourful and busy metropolis, Mumbai is the premier city in western India.

Breakfast at the hotel. Return to the city at around 3 pm to go for the Bollywood Tour, drive to one of the nearby shooting spots, where you can witness the live shooting of many different upcoming Bollywood flicks. Be it the stars practising their dialogues or the director discussing scenes with them, the crew members preparing for a shot or the technicians preparing the sets, you can spot all of them. Post the shooting spot, you will be taken towards the dance hall, where you can enjoy live dance performances of the professionals. After the dance shows, activities include a visit to the animation, VFX and sound mixing studios.

Day 4: Leave Mumbai

Visit Elephanta Island (closed on Mondays), known in ancient times as "Gharapuri" or The Place of Caves. The Portuguese took possession of the island and named it Elephanta after the great statue, which they found on the seashore. There are seven caves of which the most important is the Mahesha-Murti Cave. The main body of the cave, excluding the porticoes on the three open sides and the back aisle, is 27 m square and is supported by rows of six columns.

Mumbai City Tour

Embark on a panoramic city tour of Mumbai called Mumbai Mania. Reach Marine Drive, more popularly known as the Queen’s Necklace and drive past the Art Deco Building. From here, we will reach Mani Bhavan or Gandhi’s House. Mani Bhavan is at the epicentre of Indian History and traces the life of Gandhi, and his herculean yet non-violent battle to end the British rule. A must-do in the Mumbai itinerary, Mani Bhavan is quaint and an important piece of Indian History. After which, you will see a beautiful reservoir kept intact since the Colonial Era at Malabar Hill. We will then drive down to see India’s biggest open-air Laundry called Dhobi Ghat. A popular tourist spot, Dhobhi Ghat is an area where the laundrymen, more popularly known as the Dhobhis, wash the clothes of Mumbai-folks. There are rows of open-air concrete wash pens, each fitted with its own flogging stone. You will see the Dhobhis at work, flogging and beating the clothes tirelessly to ensure it is devoid of any stain. With nearly most of Mumbai’s washing done here, it comes as little surprise that these guys can be safely christened as the ‘Washing Machines’ of Mumbai.

India’s Bureau of Immigration has announced that with immediate effect, foreign nationals who arrive at an Indian port holding non-machine readable passports will be denied entry. 

To transit through India you will need a transit visa. You can find more information on the Indian Immigration Bureau website.

All applicants of Pakistani origin who hold dual British-Pakistan nationality must apply for an Indian visa on their Pakistan passport. Those who have either renounced Pakistani nationality or cancelled their Pakistani passport would need to submit documentary proof of this.
