Prague —
A strong contender for the title of Europe’s most beautiful city, Prague "the City of a Thousand Spires", is as charming as it is picturesque. Filled with gold-tipped towers, cathedrals, bridges, and church domes, it was once the home of the Holy Roman Emperor and the Habsburg monarchy. Take a wander through Prague’s magnificent Old Town - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - stopping to see the city’s famed astronomical clock, ninth-century castle, and the grand Charles Bridge, complete with its 16 arches and 30 Baroque statues.
Those eager to explore Prague's cultural past can head to the Strahov Library, which is housed inside a twelfth-century abbey, and is often named one of the most beautiful in the world.
