In the morning, meet your driver at the hotel and transfer to the train station for your high-speed train to Hangzhou (approx. 1 hour). Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred into the city.

Visit the Former Residence of Hu Xueyan, a famous Qing dynasty merchant and philanthropist known for his contributions to Chinese medicine and banking. Then explore the Huqing Yutang Pharmacy, a well-preserved site showcasing ancient Chinese herbal medicine practices.

Take a stroll through the Hefang Street area, located at the northern foot of Wu Shan Hill, bustling with shops, restaurants, and tea houses. This area was historically the political, cultural, and commercial centre of Hangzhou.

DAY 6: HANGZHOU – XI’AN

DAY 7: XI’AN

Today, visit the Terracotta Army, comprising over 6,000 life-sized warriors and infantry, guarding the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Explore the three main pits and admire thousands of statues seemingly frozen in time. The exhibition halls also display an impressive collection of precious objects, including a remarkable bronze chariot.

Return to Xi’an city and visit a jade workshop. Stroll through the Muslim Quarter and visit the Great Mosque, an example of traditional Chinese-style architecture set in a beautiful square courtyard.

In the afternoon, explore Pingyao Old Town. Take a walk along the ancient city walls for a panoramic view, stroll through streets lined with traditional shops and houses, and visit the Rishengchang Bank, one of the city’s historic financial institutions.

Continue to the Qingxuguan Taoist Temple, the region’s most important sanctuary, which also houses the Pingyao Museum.

DAY 11: BEIJING

Today, experience Beijing via its metro system. Meet your guide in the hotel lobby around 8:30 am. Visit the Temple of Heaven, one of Beijing’s most iconic monuments. This magnificent structure with its triple-tiered blue-tiled roof symbolises the connection between heaven and earth. Explore the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Circular Mound Altar, and the Echo Wall.

In the surrounding park, locals engage in daily leisure activities—singing, dancing, playing chess, and practising calligraphy on the ground. Don’t miss the "Love Corner", where elderly parents exchange information about their unmarried children.

In the afternoon, visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, an outstanding example of Ming dynasty architecture. Also visit Coal Hill Park, offering panoramic views of the royal palace.

DAY 12: BEIJING

Meet your guide at 9am for a morning excursion to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, located 80 km north of the city. This is a quieter section of the Wall. Ascend and descend on foot (cable car available on site).

Return to Beijing for a visit to the Summer Palace, the last royal garden of the Qing dynasty. Stop briefly to view the Olympic sites, including the Bird’s Nest and the Water Cube, from the outside. Enjoy a Chinese tea tasting and ceremony.

Visit a tea plantation, as the Huangshan region is famous for three of China’s top ten teas and has a strong tea culture. Enjoy a stroll through the plantation.

Optional activity (payable locally): If visiting between April and October, you may participate in the tea leaf harvest, learn about tea production, and taste different teas.

Visit the Hukaiwen Ink Studio, famous for Huizhou ink, and try your hand at Chinese calligraphy using brush and ink. Finish the day with a stroll through Tunxi Old Town, dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

DAY 7: TUNXI – BISHAN VILLAGE

In the late afternoon, transfer to Huangshan Airport for a flight to Xi’an. Upon arrival, meet your Chinese driver and transfer to the hotel.
