Day 2: Hanoi (Breakfast and Lunch Included)
During this day tour, we will show you the main cultural sites of Hanoi: the complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh – the nation’s founder, containing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (viewed from outside on Mondays, Fridays and afternoons as closed), and the house on stilts. This complex also comprises the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city. After that, you will visit Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam before having lunch in a local restaurant. The afternoon tour continues with a visit to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (Closed on Monday and Friday) which focuses on the 54 officially recognised ethnic groups in Vietnam and a cyclo (rickshaws)/electric car ride around the Old Quarter streets which were named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Overnight stay in Hanoi.
After breakfast at your hotel, check-out at 8 am and depart for Ha Long Bay – the UNESCO World Natural Heritage – where thousands of spectacular limestone islets and grottoes rise from the clear emerald Gulf of Tonkin. Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink on board prior to your check-in. A lunch with fresh seafood will be served while the boat is cruising through many stone islets, floating villages, and small beaches. Dinner will be served as the boat anchors off at a quiet designated overnight area. In the evening, join the crew members to try squid fishing (upon request and subject to weather conditions). Overnight on board in Ha Long Bay.
Day 4: Ha Long Bay - Hanoi - Siem Reap (Brunch Included)
In the morning, brunch will be served while cruising to Bai Tu Long bay. Pass by several rocks, islets and fishing villages, and then move towards Ha Long City to disembark around 11 am. Transfer to Noi Bai International Airport (approximately 3.5 hours) for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon landing, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Please Note: The cruise itinerary is subject to change without prior notice according to weather conditions or local administration regulations, and you will have a shared English-speaking guide on the boat. Overnight stay in Siem Reap.
You will enjoy a very special and busy day, exploring some of Angkor’s most beautiful temples. You will visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourists.
• The ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century)
• See the South Gate, Bayon Temple – unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara
• Baphuon Temple: lying just to the north of Bayon, a pyramidal representation of mythical Mont Meru
• The Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas
• The Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
You will continue to visit the fabulous Ta Prohm, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Ta Prohm was built in the 12th century. It’s a Buddhist temple dedicated to the mother of King Jayavarman VII. Have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the famous temple: Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendour. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. In the evening, visit an off the beaten track local market or spend free time on your own to discover more about the life of Cambodians. Head back to hotel to relax. Overnight in Siem Reap.
After breakfast, transfer to the Tonle Sap Lake pier to take a 30-minute motorboat trip to Kampong Phluk. Upon arrival, go for a walk to see the peaceful life of the locals who live in harmony around the lake and stop en route to visit the pagoda of the fishing village. Have some talks with the young locals and donate school supplies (bought on site), to the children of the school. Then, embark on a flat-bottomed dugout for a walk through the trees in the flooded forest to try to find some fishponds installed through the way. After this unusual walk in this ephemeral corner, return to the village and take the boat back to the pier. Drive back to the city centre.
Please Note: The boat ride on the Tonle Sap is not recommended during the dry season (March to July) due to the lack of water. During this period, this tour can be replaced by the excursion as below:
After breakfast, take the tuk tuk to explore one of the local villages where you can see the daily activities of the locals. Wander around the village to meet shy but humble villagers. After that, visit a local market where you will discover an unknown mix of colours, smells and sounds as you walk through the small alleys and meet some of the friendliest Khmer people who sell and buy a variety of foods. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum and then continue to visit the Silk Farm founded by an NGO with the purpose of maintaining the Cambodian silk productions. Continue to visit the Les Chantiers Ecole – a centrally located craft centre (depends). Founded in 1992, its mission is to revive the ancient art of the Khmers. Once you arrive there, you will have the opportunity to see how young people learn sculpture of wooden works, weaving, and stone carving. Overnight stay in Siem Reap.

Follow the narrow streets lined with houses in Chinese, Japanese, French and European architecture to visit the Japanese covered bridge, the Chinese assembly hall, a typical Vietnamese merchant’s house, one of the interesting museums and the local market. There are numerous art galleries, souvenirs and tailor shops where you can get some express made-to-order clothes if you like. The next visit is the home of a craftsman in the old streets. Here, you’ll have a brief introduction to the history, shape and colour of the lanterns as well as the stages of making them. After that, you can make a lantern by your own, decorate, pack and keep it as a souvenir of your time in Hoi An. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Tra Que herb village and the Cam Thanh fishing village by car or bicycle. Overnight stay in Hoi An.

Upon arrival, you will transfer to the pier and board a boat along the peaceful Perfume River (Huong River) to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda which is also home to many young people who want to try out and learn from life as a monk. The history of the Thien Mu Pagoda dates back to the year 1601. Legend has it that a celestial lady dressed in red appeared and asked the lord of the place to build a pagoda to control the supernatural forces and dominate the area. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Imperial Citadel (World Cultural Heritage) including Hat Tower, Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, etc. and then the tomb of King Minh Mang. Cycle through peaceful villages, meet friendly and smiling locals saying hello and feel the tranquil scenes of rural life. Next is a rowing boat through the crisscross canals. Be relaxed while observing the slow pace of Mekong Delta life. You will then have a short walk on a narrow village lane to a local family. Their hospitable greetings and tasty local cake will make you feel that being at home. His family member is happy to share you the local cake making procedure. Join them, try to make a local cake on your own under their enthusiastic instruction, and enjoy tea with honey and dried coconut while chatting with them about their daily routine, the local culture, and customs. Lunch is served with Mekong specialties at a local restaurant. Relax, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere before transferring to the pier where a waiting driver will take you to Ho Chi Minh. Overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the morning, drive 70 km out of the city to the Cu Chi Tunnels which were created in 1948 to assist the Viet Minh to combat the French. During the Vietnam War, the entire area of Cu Chi was designated a fire free zone and was heavily bombarded. From 1988, two sections of the tunnels have been opened for visitors. Sample lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to visit the gorgeous Reunification Palace, Chinatown with Thien Hau Pagoda and the Fito Museum. Overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
