Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival in Siem Reap
You will be greeted by your guide at Siem Reap airport and transferred to the hotel. Your guide will explain your itinerary in Cambodia. Enjoy some time at leisure to relax at the pool.
Overnight in Siem Reap.
In the morning, you will go by TukTuk from the hotel to reach the archaeological site. You will enter the Ta Prohm, "the ancestor Brahma", which has been left in the state of nature in order to preserve the memory of the visions of the discoverers who revealed Angkor to the West.

You will leave the hotel in tuk-tuk to discover Angkor Wat, the most prestigious monument of Khmer art. Angkor Wat is a temple-mountain with a mastery of composition never equalled.
In the afternoon, you will go through the countryside by car to reach the Banteay Srei temple "the citadel of women". It is one of the most perfect and endearing architectural creations erected in Cambodia. The buildings, which have preserved very fine decorations carved in pink sandstone, made this temple famous. Return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.

Transfer by vehicle to reach a small village lost in the middle of rice paddies. Discovery of the traditional artisan basketry and stone cutting. You will continue onboard an ox-cart ride where you will discover the farms and their market gardening. After, you will visit a primary school and meet with students in a class. A Cambodian chef will introduce you to the preparation of typical dishes such as green mango salad, amok or even Cambodian curry.
You will go back on road through the beautiful countryside and discover the well known and unknown temples. Discover a temple hidden in the forest where you will take a small path that will take you to the west to watch the sunset over the palm trees in the middle of a small ancestral village. (45min walk)

Departure for Battambang by public boat (6h of navigation). After crossing Tonle Sap Lake, you will go up the Sangker River along the bird sanctuary of Prek Toal and discover the many lakeside villages with lots of families that live by fishing on these fertile lands.
You will sail through the meanders of this fish-rich river, observing fishing techniques and the many species of birds that populate this protected ecosystem. Transfer to the hotel in Battambang then an orientation tour of the city. Meet the NGO "La Maison de Coco" which works to train disadvantaged young Cambodians. Presentation of their activities, including silk work, and a visit to the premises. At the end of the day, walk along the quays in the middle of Cambodians practising aerobic exercises in a festive atmosphere.

In the morning, you will walk in the surrounding villages. Discover the temple and the Wat Ek Phnom pagoda, dated from the 11th century. Walk in the village to visit the traditional small fish paste making, the Prahok.
In the afternoon, enjoy an excursion to Wat Banan temple. The winding road runs along the Sangker River and passes through many traditional wooden houses. At your arrival at the temple, you will climb to the top to see beautiful panoramas of the surrounding plains.
Continue to Phnom Sampeou, a sacred mountain dotted with pagodas and stupas. You will also see a memorial dedicated to the Khmer Rouge victims, who were thrown into one of the many caves of this holy mountain. Return back to Battambang.
Overnight in Battambang with breakfast & lunch included.The road to Phnom Penh is through the provinces of Pursat and Kampong Chhnang. Stop en route in the city of Pursat to meet the marble cutters from the Cardamomas chain, a speciality of the province.
You will go through a beautiful countryside path in the Kampong Chhnang province, discover a potters village who practice ancestral techniques.
You will arrive in Phnom Penh in the late afternoon and settle down at the hotel. Walk on the quays to the night market at the end of the day.

On a pedicab, you will travel back in time to discover Phnom Penh, which was nicknamed "The Pearl of Southeast Asia" in the past. See the old French Quarter, allowing you to discover beautiful architectures of the style of the time with a mixture of French-Khmer styles: at the Central Post Office, the former bank of Indochina, and the old town hall. Walk on the hill of Wat Phnom with its many symbols before discovering the central market with innovative architecture.
In the afternoon, you will return to the city and visit the main monuments of the capital including the Royal Palace and its many buildings. You will see the main residence of King Sihamoni. You will continue to visit the Silver Pagoda, paved with 500 blocks of 1kg each. It houses frescos inspired by Ramayana and other treasures of the crown and a beautiful collection of Buddha.
Visit the National Museum which houses, in a building built by a French architect in the Khmer style, very rich collections of Khmer art. Most objects come from the Angkor site.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home or drive to your extension to Sihanoukville.

Choose to continue Day 2 by mountain bike on a laterite trail through the forest to reach the small temple of Ta Nei. The track goes through the small French bridge before reaching the Preah Khan temple. Lunch in a local restaurant on the site.
The afternoon is devoted to the discovery of the great hydraulic city of Angkor Thom. King Jayavarman VII erected a laterite rampart forming a square of 3 kilometres on the side, supported by an earthquake doubled by an outdoor moat one hundred meters wide to protect his city from the invaders.
After admiring the enigmatic gates of this city, you will walk to the Terrace of Elephants where the king and his court attended games and processions then the enclosure of the royal palace with Phimeanakas. Cycle to the Bayon, central temple of this fortified city. The Bayon at first glance displays a mess of blackened stones and an entanglement of some fifty faces. You end the day with a bike ride on the ramparts and admire the sunset over the Angkorian forest.

Departure from your hotel before sunrise to reach the archaeological site. Climb on foot to the hill of Phnom Bakheng, state temple of King Yasovarman I and first construction of the city of Angkor. At the top of this temple-mountain, admire the sunrise over the Angkorian forest which allows you to see the high towers of Angkor Wat.
