Your Destination —
The fascinating country offers a true taste of Southeast Asia before the arrival of tourism and modernisation. It has a diverse landscape from dusty hot cities and mountainous jungles to beautifully calm bays and pristine beaches.
At the turn of the millennium, Siem Reap was a Cambodian provincial town with few facilities, minor surfaced roads and little in the way of nightlife. Now it is a major tourist hub due to its proximity to the world famous temples of Angkor (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Day 2: SIEM REAP
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, you will go by TukTuk from the hotel to reach the archaeological site. You will enter the Ta Prohm, "the ancestor Brahma", to enjoy magical moments in this temple which has been left partly in the state of nature in order to preserve the memory of the visions of the discoverers who revealed Angkor to the West. Here, the stone and roots of century-old kapok tree are embraced. You will continue mountain biking on a laterite trail through the forest to reach the small temple of Ta Nei lost in the forest. The trail passes by the small French bridge before reaching the temple of Preah Khan. Enigmatic in many ways, it was built by King Jayavarman VII who dedicated it to his father. In particular, it is the only building with round columns. (7km of mountain bike on flat track and groomed of soil and sand).
Lunch in a local restaurant on site. The afternoon is dedicated to the discovery of the great hydraulic city of Angkor Thom. King Jayavarman VII had a laterite bulwark built in a square of 3 kilometres on the side, supported by a raised earth with an outer moat 100 meters wide to protect his city from the invaders. After admiring the enigmatic doors of this city, you will go on foot to visit the Elephants' Terrace where the king and his court attended the games and processions and then the enclosure of the royal palace with the Phimeanakas. A few bicycle wheels, you will reach the Bayon, central temple of this fortified city. The Bayon presents at first glance a disorder of blackened stones and a tangle of some fifty face towers. You will end the day with a bicycle ride on the ramparts and admire the setting sun on the Angkorian forest. (7km of mountain biking on flat tracks and groomed with sand and earth)

After your breakfast, departure for Kampong Khleang, a lakeside village is about forty kilometres from Siem Reap and is spared by mass tourism. It is a village, where all the houses are on stilts, which offers an exceptional natural environment, the landscapes are breathtaking: floodplains, expanses of water as far as the eye can see, rice paddies a sparkling green ... Walk in the village to meet the locals and stop in a house where the family raises crocodiles. Then, departure by local boat on the canals to the big lake where the Vietnamese people who live there move their houses according to the seasons.
Lunch in the village. Back to Siem Reap and free time.

You will leave the hotel in a tuk-tuk to discover Angkor Wat, the most prestigious monument of Khmer art and whose dimensions are comparable to the Forbidden City of Beijing. Angkor Wat is a temple-mountain whose pyramidal plan, combined with the vastly skilful perspectives of the avenues and basins, allows the architectural line to take all its importance and indicates a mastery of composition never equalled. It reproduces in the world of men the arrangement of the dwellings of the gods: it is the reflection, on earth, of Mount Meru, the seat of the celestial residence of the deities.
Lunch in a restaurant – BONG THOM – in a traditional wooden house.
In the afternoon, you will go through the countryside by car to reach the Banteay Srei temple "the citadel of women". It is one of the most perfect and endearing architectural creations erected in Cambodia. The buildings, which have preserved very fine decorations carved in pink sandstone, made this temple famous. Return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.
