Salvador

Salvador was founded in 1549 by São Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos, who reigned throughout Brazil for over two centuries. Salvador was the showcase of the Portuguese Colony and second largest city after Lisbon during this time. Today, it is the fourth largest city with over 2,000,000 inhabitants. Salvador is a magical city and the most African of all Brazilian cities. It is an architectural treasure with its delirious splendor of baroque style, represented by churches, and even beautiful sobrados. The charm works at all times to add to the colourful culture and beat of Bahian music.

Manaus

The capital and largest city of the state of Amazonas, Manaus sits in the centre of the world's largest rainforest and is a crucial area for scientific studies surrounding the Amazon. It is seen as the gateway to the jungle and is also a major port where you can find sights such as zoos, museums and beaches to keep you busy before you head into the jungle. Take a photo of the largest water lily, Victoria Amazónica Water Lily, head out to visit the ‘Land of Waterfalls’ on a day trip and discover some of the charming French architecture.

Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is world renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and location, nestled between lush, green mountains and crystal clear seas. Rio is one of the most prominent cultural and economical cities in Brazil and features some of country’s most famous attractions such as Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain), Corcovado, and the iconic beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. The city is full of energy and rhythm, and the locals of Rio, ‘Cariocas’, are known for their care free spirit and charm. Whether you are looking to experience the music and rhythms, relax in a naturally stunning environment, or enjoy all the luxuries of a cosmopolitan city, Rio de Janeiro has it all!
