Maracana Tour

Visiting Maracanã, the most famous soccer stadium of Brazil and going close to the sacred field where two World Cup finals and one edition of the Olympic Games were played is an amazing experience! Go “behind the scenes”, discover and explore the dressing rooms, decorated with shirts of Brazilian League “Série A” clubs, and the warm-up and press conference rooms.

In the dressing room, a video with legendary moments of football history warms visitors up for the tour climax: walking out onto the field. Visitors get to walk up to the side lines of this sacred stage and even sit in one of the reserves bench.  Other than the field, visitors also get to see items related to players made history in the stadium, as Pelé, Garrincha and Zico. A Brazil No. 7 shirt worn by Mané in the 62 World Cup and one of the balls and the goal net of the King of Football’s one thousandth goal match (Vasco x Santos, in 1969).

Corcovado Tour

One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the magnificent Christ the Redeemer, the iconic statue on top of Corcovado Hill, Rio’s most famous landmark. The Corcovado Hill is part of the Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. On the way to its top is the Dona Marta belvedere, from where is possible to see the Maracanã Stadium, the famous Guanabara Bay and the beautiful Sugar Loaf. Once at the top of Corcovado Hill, it is possible to admire breathtaking views of Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and the Botanical Garden.

This tour departs the hotel after breakfast to visit the most famous landmarks sites of the city and see from above the natural beauty of Rio. After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, guests arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill. They embark on a comfortable train that ascends the mountain and get at the statue of Christ the Redeemer, located 2,300 ft above sea level. Once at the top, they can use the panoramic elevators or escalators to get to the foot of the statute, as well as enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro.

Guanabara Bay Cruise

On 1st January of 1502, a Portuguese squad commanded by Gonçalves, discovered the Guanabara Bay. As they considered it a great river, and discovered it in January, they called it “Rio de Janeiro” (“January River”). Guanabara Bay is the largest bay in the world based on volume of water and has several islands, such as the Governor's Island, Fundão and Cobras Island. Facing west it is possible to see the city of Rio, while facing east, the municipal district of Niteroi.

A different perspective of the city can be discovered by taking a schooner around the bay, as guests can also admire the districts of Botafogo, Flamengo and Urca, as well as the Sugar Loaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer and Rio-Niterói Bridge.

Jeep Tour: Panoramic City Tour + Carnival Behind the Scenes

One of the most famous Carnivals of the world is in Rio. This is the biggest Brazilian cultural manifestation and a democrat celebration, where everyone interact and have fun together regardless of their origin. Carnival in Rio is distinguished for being, not only a celebration, but also a competition. Cariocas have a venue entirely dedicated to samba schools’ demonstration of their incredible productions, the Sambadrome. This parade is a huge event that involves thousands of people that want to wear a custom and participate in a unique opportunity that provides a memorable experience.

This tour departs from the hotel passing through the South Zone beaches, Aterro do Flamengo, City Center and Boulevard Olímpico. The guests will have the opportunity to see a panoramic view of Estácio de Sá Monument, Guanabara Bay, Santos Dumont airport, XV Square, Justiça Federal Building, Tiradentes Palace, Candelária Church and others. After the panoramic tour, the guests will have a Carnival experience at Sambódromo, also known as ‘Samba City’. Once at Sambódromo, they will visit a Samba-School studio, have the opportunity to try the costumes and after that exciting visit, they have time to taste the traditional caipirinha, a cocktail made with cachaça (sugar cane hard liquor), lemon and sugar.

There has been an increase in reported cases of yellow fever, particularly in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais. Visit the NaTHNaC website for information on yellow fever vaccination recommendations for British travellers. Please note that Rio de Janeiro state authorities recommend that all visitors to the state, including to the island of Ilha Grande, are vaccinated against yellow fever.

UK health authorities have classified Brazil as having a risk of Zika virus transmission. You should follow the advice of the National Travel Health Network and Centre.

Malaria is present in parts of the country

Dengue fever is particularly common during the rainy season (from November to March).

You should take steps to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes and for more information and advice, visit the NaTHNaC website.

If vaccinations or other preventive measures are required, you will need to visit your health professional at least 8 weeks before your trip. In the event that you are referred to a medical facility for treatment, you should contact your insurance/medical assistance company immediately.
