Your Included Excursions —
Our members have the following excursions included in their stay.
Buenos Aires City Tour (3 hours)
From the Plaza, we start the tour going down Avenida de Mayo, one of the most interesting urban developments of the city with its variety of architectural styles, wide avenues and spacious green areas which balance out the vertiginous rhythm of the city. A good example is Avenida 9 de Julio, with its eight lanes separated by lawns with ancient trees, and embellished by fountains and sculptures. From there you can see the symbol of the city, “The Obelisque.” The tour continues all the way to the neighborhood of San Telmo, one of the oldest in the city, settled at the end of the XIX century by aristocratic families. This neighborhood, in which every Sunday the antiques fair takes place around Plaza Dorrego, keeps expanding its great architectural heritage. The area is also very active at night as it is the center for most of the tango parlors, “tanguerias”, restaurants and bars.
Going further south you arrive at the picturesque and colourful port neighborhood of La Boca, with its famous street “Caminito” whose buildings and customs reflect the influence of European settlers that arrived at its shores during the XIX century and left their imprint not only in the multicolour houses still being used today but also in the cuisine of the typical “cantinas,” small restaurants. Followed by this comes the modern neighborhood of Puerto Madero, with its old piers converted into offices, apartments, places for entertainment and elegant restaurants, and its view of Rio de la Plata, a residential neighborhood of Palermo with elegant mansions surrounded by spacious parks and finally arriving at La Recoleta. Next to the cemetary is the church of Our Lady of Pilar, the former convent which today is part of the Cultural Center of Recoleta, the shopping area, Buenos Aires Design, and the exposition center, Palais de Glace. There the tour ends. Return to hotel.
Brazilian Falls Visit (3 hours)
Included in the New Seven Wonders of Nature list, the wonderful Iguazu Falls are located in the border that divides Brazil, Argentine and Paraguay, what gives guests the opportunity to admire the natural show in different angles. Many observation decks, suspended walkaways and transportation modes are disposed to provide the best experiences. It is incredible to appreciate the immensity and strength of the water that falls uninterruptedly.
From Brazilian side, the Iguazu Falls can be seen from another perspective. There is a wonderful panoramic view of them, as two thirds are located in the opposite side, the Argentinean side. With a good infrastructure, there are many adventures attractions to have fun and enjoy the view from many different ways.
Departing from the hotel to Iguazu Falls, guests arrive at the National Park and encounter a breathtaking panoramic view of the falls. The contrast between the green of the vegetation and the white falls caused by its strength is very enchanting. Guests have the opportunity to walk along the trails to appreciate the landscapes and the different points of view that the park provides.
Argentinian Falls Tour
The Argentinean side has two thirds of the falls of Iguassu Falls, what makes the visit exciting, as guests have the emotion of feeling the strength of the waterfalls very closely. There are trails and two circuits around the park, so guests can admire the natural phenomenon from different points of view. One of the most incredible experiences is to go to Devil’s Throat, where is possible to see the strong waterfall from the top.
On the transfer to the Argentine side of Iguassu Falls, guests cross a bridge with 480 meters in length that was built in 1985, known popularly as the "International Fraternity Bridge" although its official name is International Tancredo Neves Bridge, conecting Brazil (Foz do Iguaçu) and Argentina (Puerto Iguazu). They arrive at the Guests Center and the Iguazu National Park Entrance, which has snack bars, a restaurant, souvenir shops, toilets, medical attention and an interpretive building with giant panels showing the biodiversity of the subtropical humid forest. To get to the catwalks and see the Falls, guests take the gas-propelled train that will lead to the Upper Falls Circuits, for walks around forests and beautiful landscapes, and especially the Devil’s Throat, which provides one of the best views of the Falls, due to the impact of the water that makes big clouds of steam and form an incredible rainbow.
Full Day Tour of Corcovado and Sugar Loaf with Lunch and Guide (8 hours)
Every year, over a million tourists visit the international famous Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf Mountain), an iconic symbol of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Its name was given due to the ressemblance to the traditional shape of a refined sugar loaf. The journey to the top is made in glass cable-cars. The first cable-car takes passengers to the top of Urca Hill, which rises 215 meters above sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire bay and its surrounding islands. At Urca Hill, passengers take the second cable-car to the top of Sugar Loaf, which rises 395 meters above sea level and offers a 360 degree view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, Corcovado Hill and Rio’s downtown.
This tour departs the hotel after breakfast to visit the most famous landmarks sites of the city and see the natural beauty of Rio from above. After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, guests arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill. They embark on a comfortable train that ascends the mountain and get at the statue of Christ the Redeemer, located 2,300 ft above sea level. Once at the top, they can use the panoramic elevators or escalators to get to the foot of the statute, as well as enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro. After that, they descend the mountain and head to the Sugar Loaf Mountain, where they join the two stages of the cable-car to get on top of the Hill and appreciate the 360 degree view of Rio de Janeiro. The next stop is in a barbecue restaurant for a delicious lunch in the Brazilian style.
