Kayak, snorkel, windsurf or even swim in the tranquil waters of the resort's two reef-sheltered beaches and discover eco-adventures at the resort and around the island. The adventures are yours to choose from. Guests can also enjoy a short walk to the nearby historic Devil's Bridge attraction for excellent photo opportunities.
The uninhabited island sanctuaries of Green Island and Bird Island also are accessible by a short boat ride. Sightseeing, dining and shopping in historic St. John's are only 30 minutes from the resort by car, as is Antigua's international airport.
The island's capital of St. John's boasts some lovely and traditional Caribbean island culture such as the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda. The main sights worth a visit are St. John's Cathedral, Fort James, the botanical gardens and St. John's Antigua Lighthouse.

Inside, emerald-green and apricot touches punctuate the cool white interior. Each suite boasts a comfortably appointed floor plan with combined living and sleeping area with a king-size bed and queen sleeper sofa. Vaulted ceilings create a sense of spaciousness, and elegant touches, like cool granite countertops, wood, bamboo and rattan, bring nature indoors. Convenient exterior connecting doors between adjoining units make it easy for family and friends to stay together at Verandah.
Glistening white-tiled bathrooms offer a deep soaking tub, shower and his-and-her sinks. Accommodations are equipped with flat-screen, satellite TV, safe, and direct-dial telephone, as well as mini-fridge, microwave, a wet bar with coffee/tea making facilities and iron/ironing board.

Seabreeze - The resort's main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style. It offers a wide range of choices that are sure to please guests of all ages. The Seabreeze evening buffets offer a variety of themes to meet everyone's taste. The lovely, open-air dining room is enhanced by light pine pergolas, ceiling fans and exposed beams and dark wood, with lofty vaulted ceilings for an airy, outdoor feeling.
Nicole's - The fine-dining restaurant offers a blend of stylishly presented, Caribbean-inflected cuisine. Warm red walls and dark wood trim create a cosy ambience, and rattan, bamboo and soft upholstered furnishings create a welcoming, Caribbean feel.
Buccaneer -Casual and fun, the serves lighter, family-friendly fare with an alternative a la carte menu.
Dress code - At The Verandah Resort & Spa, a 'Summer Casual' dress code for evening dining will apply. At Nicole's Restaurant, dress is elegant (long trousers and collared shirt).
Rasta Bar - Guests can get into the island spirit at the beachside, a funky little shack just off the main lobby building. It offers a full complement of non-alcoholic beverages in a totally relaxed and beachy setting.
Pool Bar - Guests who don't wish to stray far from the pool can cool off at the Pool Bar, outfitted in natural stone, in keeping with the surroundings. By night, lively international-style music and entertainment will keep the fun flowing and your toes tapping after dark.
The Lounge - The expansive and centrally located main lounge also overlooks the pool and winding, limestone-walled pathways of the Common. It's the place where guests can meet and socialise, with fun and refreshment on tap for both daytime and night, with décor that blends rough-hewn dark pine with sleek granite.
Beach Bar & Grill - Perched above Lover's Beach is the relaxing Beach Bar & Grill, offering killer views of the entire cove, light lunch, snacks, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. It's the ideal place to pull up a barstool, kick off your flip-flops and enjoy the fresh sea breeze.

The décor is serene, with natural elements such as rattan, sea grass, wood and cool, glowing white tiles. 'Tranquility' offers three well-appointed massage rooms that offer private bathrooms and showers and a lovely facial room replete with products to be purchased for at-home use.
Swim and Snorkel - With its two white-sand beaches, Verandah guests can soak up the sun on the comfortable beach loungers and cool down with frequent dips in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. The tranquil, protected cove-like bay makes it perfect for swimming and snorkelling.
Diving - For those who want to really explore beneath the surface, diving is available at the sister resort, St James's Club which offers guests excursions to more than 20 dive sites. Instruction is available for beginner and advanced divers, as well as for children aged 10 and up. Equipment rental is included in the price for instruction. Single-tank, two-tank and night dives are available for an additional charge. Diving sites include Cades Reef, part of an underwater park, and the wreck of the Andes, a three-mast merchant ship that sank more than a century ago.
