Your Itinerary —
Fly to Tashkent with Turkish Airlines, and spend the night on board.
Day 2: Tashkent (Visits)
Arrive in Tashkent around 7 am, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for breakfast.
Embark on a sightseeing tour of the "Old Town" of Tashkent, which has retained much of its original charm. Here, you will visit the Khast Imam complex, where the first Imam of Tashkent's tomb is found, as well as the Tillasheikh Mosque, Barak Khan Madrassa and Juma Mosque. There is also a library which contains the remaining fragments of the world's first Osmaninan Koran. You will also pay a visit to Kukeldash Madrassa.
Next, explore Chorsu, one of the biggest bazaars in Uzbekistan, before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will then visit Independence Square, Amir Temur Square and the Museum of the Applied Arts.
Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel for the night.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At 7 am, you will then be transferred to the railway station for the 8 am departure by "Afrosiob" express train to Samarkand. Arrive in Samarkand at around 10 am where you will be transferred to your hotel to drop off your luggage.
Spend the day dedicated to discovering the city; visit the famous Registan Square, Tilia-Kari, Shirdor, Oulough Beg, and the Gour Emir mausoleum.
Have a traditional lunch in an Uzbek restaurant, before continuing your visits with a trip to Ulug Beg, the first observatory in the east. Visit the Afrosiab Museum before enjoying dinner in a local restaurant and returning to the hotel.
Day 4: Samarkand - Shakrhisabz - Samarkand (90km / Visits)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Shakhisabz City. There will be two stops on the route; one at Demon's Plateau close to Urgut City, where ancient stones are shaped like fantastical demons. The second stop will be at the highest point of Takhtaracha Pass.
Upon arrival in Shakrhisabz, the looming entrance portal of Ak-Sarai Palace will welcome you. Embark on an excursion to the Mausoleum of Jakhongir and visit Amir Temur's empty tomb in the Dorus Siadat Complex.
Have lunch before driving back to Samarkand, where you will be transferred back to the hotel. Have dinner in a local restaurant.
After breakfast at the hotel, spend more time exploring Samarkand with a visit to the Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis, a true pearl of 14th-15th-century architecture that is unique to Samarkand. Explore the nearby picturesque Siab Bazaar, soaking up the noises, sounds and smells of this fascinating local hotspot.
Enjoy lunch and dinner in a local, authentic Uzbek restaurant. At 8 pm, you will be transferred to the station in order to catch the "Afrosiob" fast train for Bukhara. Arrive at 10:30 pm and transfer to your hotel.
Day 6: Bukhara (Walking tour)
Spend the day discovering the old city of Bukhara, with enchanting narrow streets and monuments. Visit the Po-i-Kalyan ensemble, and stroll past jewellery vendors and market sellers, visit the mosque Magok-i-Attari, and the ancient Zoroastrian Temple.
Have a traditional lunch in one of the city's restaurants, before continuing your visits in the afternoon. Witness the Liabi-Khaouz, the 'citadel of Ark' which is over 2000 years old. Visit the Bolo-Khaouz mosque with its 20 looming pillars, as well as the mausoleum of Ismail Samani, one of the oldest monuments of the city, as well as the nearby mausoleum of Tchachma Ayyub.
Have dinner in a local restaurant before spending the night at your hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, visit the variety of monuments just outside Bukhara. This includes the Madrasa Tchor Minor or the "four minarets" hidden within the alleys of the city's oldest districts. Visit the necropolis of Bahauddin Nakchbandi, the most sacred site in the whole city. You'll also visit the summer residence of the emirs of Bukhara, Sitora-i-Mokhi Khossa.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Uzbek meal before spending the night at the hotel.
Day 8: Bukhara - Tashkent (Free time / Train)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time to discover Bukhara before being transferred to the railway station at 3:50 pm. Arrive in Tashkent at around 8 pm where you will be transferred to the hotel.
Day 9: Tashkent - Departure to the UK
After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Tashkent Airport for your flight back to the UK.
