Your Destinations

Cape Town

Cape Town is renowned for being one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Situated at the base of Table Mountain, it is the capital city of the Western Cape. Whether you are looking for history, natural beauty or a cosmopolitan lifestyle, the 'Mother City' has it all. There is such a diversity of attractions and activities here, you will not be disappointed with your city experience.

Offering fantastic views of the city, Table Mountain dominates the skyline. For natural surroundings, there are gardens, beaches and vineyards all close by. Cape Town is steeped in history and many of the museums and monuments have much to tell. For a cosmopolitan and lively experience, visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and seek out its wide variety of shops, restaurants and craft markets.

Kruger National Park

The Kruger National Park is arguably the finest game park in the world. Most lodges offer two game drives per day (one early in the morning and one in the evening) and your chances of seeing the “Big Five” - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo - are excellent.

This must be high on the list of "musts" for any visit to South Africa.
Travel between July to November for ultimate game-viewing, as this is when the park is dry and animals congregate around the water sources. After the short December rains, the bush is verdant and lush and birdlife is at its finest. It is also the calving season when hordes of wildebeests are born every day.

Johannesburg

Johannesburg, or Jo’burg as it is more commonly known, is South Africa’s largest city, situated on an interior plateau known as the Highveld. Johannesburg is one of South Africa’s key gateway cities and offers an array of exciting sightseeing options. There's something for everyone - museums that examine the country's apartheid past, the city's exciting new Constitutional Court, a look at the city's gold mining beginnings, traditional African medicine and plenty of animals and outdoor fun.

Uganda - Entebbe & Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The landlocked nation of Uganda, located in East Africa, is a tapestry of diverse landscapes, welcoming locals and incredible wildlife. Home to Africa's tallest mountain range -the snow-capped Rwenzoris, lush tea plantations, the source of the Nile leading to immense lakes, and abundant wildlife, Uganda packs a lot into one small country.

Famously called the Pearl of Africa by Winston Churchill, Uganda is one of the only three locations in the world to be home to the rare Mountain Gorilla (the other being the Virunga Massif, Congo and Mgahinga National Park Rwanda), and offers its visitors the chance to visit these beautiful creatures up close, in one of the most exclusive settings on the planet - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Please Note: During your stay in Cape Town, Kruger National Park & Johannesburg, you will enjoy free time or will embark on game drives as per your hotel's schedule. The following itinerary is valid during your time in Uganda, where you will enjoy a 3-day/4-night Gorilla Trekking Tour.

Day 1: Johannesburg - Entebbe
Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you'll spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Entebbe - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfst, return to the airport to board a flight to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This biodiverse, mountainous area in south west Uganda is home to many of the world's remaining mountain gorillas, who feed on roots, leaves and fruits from the park's many tree and fern species. Restricted numbers of viewing permits help protect the endangered gorilla families. Upon arrival at your hotel, you will have time to relax and prepare for tomorrow's early start and your gorilla trek.
Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Experience a very early start to your day and enjoy your gorilla trekking tour - one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth with the opportunity to come face-to-face with endangered mountain gorillas as they feed, play and groom just a few feet away from you. During your trek, you will be accompanied by an experienced ranger and the whole trek will take between 2-6 hours, but is well worth the effort. As you trek, the ranger will relate interesting facts about flora and fauna as well as the lifestyles of the gorillas.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Entebbe - Departure
After breakfast, take a morning flight back to Entebbe, during which you can enjoy the beautiful aerial view of south western Uganda, with its hills and thick vegetation along with farmland. Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will board a flight back home.

Gorilla Trekking License Information

Currently the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) - the government body responsible for tourism in Uganda - sells 152 gorilla permits per day visiting 19 habituated gorilla families spread over 4 sectors of  Bwindi National Park. There are also 8 gorilla habituation permits available each day in Bwindi forest located in 2 habituation gorilla families south of Bwindi forest. All gorilla tour permits are issued from the UWA offices in Kampala which permits tourists to trek and see gorillas in their natural habitat. Trekking permits are only issues at the UWA head offices in Kampala and cannot be purchased from the forest headquarters.

The small numbers of guests allowed on these tours both benefit visitors and the animals themselves, as it protects the gorillas and their natural habitat and allows tourists to feel as though they gain a more exclusive trekking experience.
