Nairobi is the capital of and the largest city in Kenya. It is widely considered the gateway to the world of African safaris. This metropolis offers a range of activities, including a magnificent giraffe centre and the large and striking Jamia Mosque. The Masai Mara National Reserve occupies a 124-square-mile expanse of Serengeti plains and is inhabited by many of Africa’s most popular wild animals. The area is managed by the Maasai tribe, who do not believe in land ownership and instead live harmoniously amongst the wildlife. This area boasts a range of immense creatures, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards, black rhinos and hippos, as well as over 57 species of birds of prey.
Diani Beach is a major beach resort on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya. It is located 30 kilometres south of Mombasa, in the nearby Kwale County. The beach is approximately 6 miles long - pure white sand and clear blue sea for as far as the eye can see. Inland there are lush green palm trees, a welcome sight after the dry, dusty desert. The area is known for its coral reefs, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and the nearby Shimba Hills National Reserve - a wildlife reserve which looks out over the Indian Ocean.
