Azura Selous —
One of the best things about this beautiful lodge is its location, hidden far away from the other Selous lodges (5 hours from other lodges) you probably wont see another car from start to finish in this special and spectacular part of the Selous. This allows you to get up close to the wildlife and game and enjoy these incredible experiences without other cars and at your leisure. This is what makes a safari here so special, this is authentic classic Africa at its very best.
Above and beyond the game drives, you can enjoy expert walking safaris and boating safaris. For downtime there is a stunning swimming pool, spa treatments and the location next to the river rapids is very peaceful and tranquil.
A safari in southern Tanzania is slow and relaxed, you will be rested and refreshed and will be sad to leave the magical Selous and warm hospitality of Azura Selous.
Azura Quilalea —
The villas are built from natural coral stone and makuti thatch, and have all been revamped to increase comfort with natural finishings, indoor/outdoor showers, private decks stretching out to the beach, daybeds and sun-loungers for relaxing.
This is paradise for lovers of marine life and offers snorkelling and scuba diving straight off the beach in front of your villa. Kayaking, deep sea fishing, African spa experiences, exclusive picnics and beach dinners can be organised and all guests receive Azura’s trademark Mozambican Butler/Host service.

This offer is based on a Tented Villa in Azura Selous and a Kaskazi Villa in Azura Quilalea.
Azura brings a whole new meaning to luxury accommodation in the Selous. The tented villas are a haven of rest and relaxation overlooking the tranquil rapids of the Great Ruaha River and the resident hippo. The 12 tented villas have differing animal themes and all have plunge pools overlooking the river rapids, relaxation in the bush doesn’t get any better than this!
The unique 'eco-chic' design of the tented villas offers guests something very different and fresh compared to other lodges in southern Tanzania. They feature handmade items from community based projects in line with our 'designed to give' principles.
Being part stone and part tented, linked with a large reception area designed to mimic a huge termite mound, the unique tented villas give you the best of both worlds, and have all the luxuries you can imagine for your bush stay. Importantly you feel like you are close to nature offering you the feel of a real safari adventure.
The villas are air-conditioned and offer over 90sqm of inside space. The tented bedrooms are large and offer very comfortable custom made beds. Large opulent stone bathrooms give you all the comforts you could need and also come with wonderful inside and outside showers where you can shower under the elements in privacy.
There is plenty of space for rest, relaxation and privacy. Going to sleep and waking up with the animal and bird noises and regular hippo snorts is truly very magical and special.

The 4 Kaskazi villas are open-plan and spacious, with stylish décors of wood, cotton and materials such as rope, pebbles and rattan, all blending in seamlessly with the island surroundings. Guests need only take a few steps to the gleaming white beach, or they may choose to bask on their sun lounger on their private deck.
All of the villas have a unique energy control system whereby guests can take control of their own eco-footprint. All mod cons are there if desired, including mini bar and air-conditioning, or guests can throw their villa open to being air-cooled by the natural breezes.
