Your destinations

Laos stands as the mountainous gem of Southeast Asia, nestled as the sole landlocked country in the region.  A gorgeous water-laden expanse runs its way along its western border, embracing Thailand. Buddhism weaves its way seamlessly into Laotian life and society, infusing every corner with its serene influence. Within its borders resides a tapestry of diversity—varied traditions, customs, and a chorus of four predominant languages. Here, Laos boasts an unparalleled cultural legacy that rivals its abundant natural wonders. For wanderers and explorers, it's a haven brimming with cultural richness, artistic marvels, and an unmatched warmth from its people

Cambodia

Cambodia, a land of ancient wonders and vibrant culture, beckons travellers with its breathtaking temples, lush landscapes, and warm hospitality. From the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat to bustling markets and serene countryside, Cambodia offers an unforgettable journey through history and tradition.

Must-sees:

  • Angkor Wat: A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the crown jewel of Khmer architecture, this magnificent temple complex is a testament to Cambodia's rich history and spiritual heritage.
  • Phnom Penh Royal Palace: A stunning example of Khmer architecture and home to the Silver Pagoda, this royal residence offers a glimpse into Cambodia's regal past.
  • Tonlé Sap Lake: Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake, where floating villages and unique ecosystems showcase a different side of Cambodian life.

Culinary culture:

Cambodia’s cuisine is a delightful fusion of bold flavors and fresh ingredients. Traditional dishes like amok trey (fish steamed in banana leaves with coconut and spices) and lok lak (stir-fried beef) are must-tries. Market stalls serve popular street foods such as num pang (Khmer sandwiches) and crispy fried crickets for the more adventurous. For a sweeter bite, indulge in sticky rice with mango or palm sugar-based treats.

Dive deeper:

When looking further beyond the famed temples, Cambodia offers hidden gems that provide deeper insight into its culture. Visit Battambang, a charming riverside town known for its colonial architecture and arts scene, or explore the Kampot pepper plantations, where the world-famous spice is cultivated. Take a trip to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek for a sobering yet vital understanding of the country's history.

Good to know:

The official currency is the Cambodian Riel (KHR), but US dollars are widely accepted. The best time to visit is during the dry season, from November to April. Tuk-tuks and bicycles are popular ways to get around, especially in temple areas. Be sure to dress modestly when visiting religious sites, and keep hydrated while exploring under the tropical sun.
