It has long been a key trade and passenger route and this has served the river well for modern day tourist journeys along this mammoth, diverse river. As well as serving trade and transport purposes, the Danube is also a working river – providing drinking water for millions of people.
On this superb cruise you will discover the many faces of this fascinating, long-enduring river.
Your Itinerary —
Day One: London Gatwick to Munich
Flight with transfer Munich to Passau setting sail in the early evening.
Day Two: Melk – Vienna
This morning we arrive in the Austrian city of Melk, which is filled with cobbled streets and attractive buildings, including the nearby Schallaburg Castle. Join our optional excursion to visit Benedictine Abbey, one of the best known and most splendid monastic houses in Austria. In the Afternoon we cruise through the breathtaking Wachau Valley and reach the Austrian capital of Vienna. Enjoy the sights of the city lit up at night on our optional excursion.
Day Three: Vienna
We spend a full day experiencing the delights of Vienna. Grand palaces, baroque castles, magnificent squares and striking monuments are just some of the key features of this beautiful city, which is a World Heritage Site. In the morning you can join our optional city tour and in the afternoon we have an optional excursion to the Schönbrunn Palace, which takes you on a journey through time as we explore some of the 1,441 rooms. We cast off this evening and cruise towards Bratislava.
Day Four: Bratislava
We wake in Bratislava, the historic capital of Slovakia which is dominated by its castle. There’s also the unique suspension bridge, another key landmark, announced as the building of the century when it opened in 1972. Join our optional guided tour to take in the main sights and experience the rich culture in and around the old town. Later we cruise towards Budapest.
Day Five: Budapest
This morning we disembark our ship for the final time and bid farewell to our Captain and crew for our return flight to the UK

Explore the charming Slovakian capital. See the city’s largest church – St. Martin’s Cathedral, and Primate’s Palace, often referred to as the most beautiful site in all of Bratislava.

Even the cabins are an inviting space to relax, with those on the Panorama Deck offering excellent river views from a French balcony.
Restaurant
The spacious restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy your included meals, where you are looked after by the highly professional and friendly service team. Meals are served at a single sitting and the menus include international cuisine along with traditional local dishes, freshly prepared by your on board chef.
Lounge/Bar
The spacious and attractive lounge is located on the Panorama Deck and ensures much cosiness on board. It’s a great place to meet your fellow guests and relax as you watch the scenery pass by.
Your Cabin —
This offer is based on a Main, Middle or Panorama Deck Cabin.
Located on the lower deck these cabins feature two small viewing windows and twin beds, which are folded away during the day. The cabins measure in at 12m² and also include a small desk and chair.
These cabins feature large sliding windows and two beds that are folded into sofas during the day. They are slightly larger than the main deck cabins and offer the same amenities. Similar to the Panorama cabins in terms of size but the window is a sliding picture window rather than French balcony.
These cabins are the highest standard rooms aboard the ms Serenity and are located on the upper deck. The size of the cabins is approximately 12.5m² and they boast a French balcony, which offers excellent river views. The cabins feature twin beds that are folded away during the day.
