Overlooked by the imposing fortress of Priamar, the port city will welcome you to the Riviera di Ponente, with its celebrated seaside resorts. Discover tropical fish, sponges and corals, sharks, seals as well as the first ocean cruise liner and the Old Port. With excursions including a boat trip and a visit to the famous aquarium and the new Museum of the Sea, enjoy unique experiences whilst finding out more about the world of the sea and the adventures of the first travels on the Atlantic Ocean.
If ever there was a place to return to and delve deeper, it's Rome. For Renaissance treasures, nothing compares. The Uffizi is home to Michelangelo's David, Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Leonardo's Annunciation - just the beginning of Rome's wealth of culture. Add architectural icons like Brunelleschi's Duomo, or the Baptistry with its Gates of Paradise and you have yourself a cultural feast.
A strategic transit point for goods, but also a meeting place for cultures: you'll find vibrant evidence of these in the mosaic of its people. Marseille, the oldest city in France, is a very important port, as well as being a university town and the seat of an archbishopric. A must see is the "Kennedy Corniche", a coastal road with views across to the islands in the bay of Marseille and the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde. Aix-en-Provence is a university and spa town, the cultural and political centre of Provence.
A city you can't help falling in love with: vibrant, cosmopolitan, proud, magnificent and generous, it will indulge you with exciting and vivid sensations. The excursions, on foot or by bike, take in the most important places and monuments: the Montjuic hill, the Ramblas, the Barrio Gotico and the Picasso Museum, leaving you enough time to do shopping and try some tapas. There is a special Gaudí tour of his most famous masterpieces such as the Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell, Casa Batllo and La Pedrera. The visit to the Benedictine abbey of Montserrat is not to be missed.
