• Today, Athens is a bustling metropolis with a blend of ancient historical sites and modern urban life. It's a cultural centre with museums, galleries, and theatres. The city's architecture captures the attention of all who visit this city, with its combination of elements from various historical periods.

Days 1-5 of this itinerary are identical to those in the 5-night offer with two extra nights in Santorini.

DAYS 5 -7 - SANTORINI 

• Santorini (or Thira), the crescent-shaped jewel of the Aegean Sea, is in fact a group of islands made up of Thira, Thirassia, Aspronissi, Palea and Nea Kameni in the southernmost part of the Cyclades.
• Did you know that the whole island of Santorini is still an active volcano (along with Methana, Mylos and Nisiros) and probably the only volcano in the world whose crater is in the sea?
• There aren't many places in the world where you can enjoy exquisitely clear waters while perched on the rim of a huge active volcano in the middle of the sea.
• Spend these days discovering the island of Santorini and all its facets.

DAY 4 - ATHENS

• Spend today relaxing and discovering Athens.

• Transfer to the port of Piraeus.
• Ferry to Santorini.

DAYS 4 TO 6 - ATHENS

Embark on a cruise around the volcanic islands of the Santorini caldera aboard a unique traditional Greek boat, to sailing to lava islets Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni, and the island of Thirassia.

Sail past Aspronisi, the ancient lighthouse, Indian Rock and Black Mountain on this splendid cruise. Take advantage of the many opportunities for swimming and snorkelling at White Beach, Red Beach and in the hot springs area. This trip ends at Ammoudi harbour.

Board a cruise in the afternoon and set sail below the Caldera! Sail past Aspronisi, Ancient lighthouse, Indian rock, and Black Mountain. Enjoy multiple swim and snorkel opportunities and watch the sunset below Oia. This tour ends at Ammoudi Port.

It was Athens that brought the world drama, history, poetry, and philosophy, and a visit to this ancient city offers no end of attractions.

Indeed, the towering columns of the 2,000-year-old Parthenon still dominate the city skyline, a homage to the goddess Athena. No visit to the city would be complete without walking up to the Acropolis and admiring its structures: aside from the Parthenon, you can see the Erechtheion, a temple dedicated to Athena and Poseidon, and the Propylaea, the ancient gateway to the hill citadel.

Walking through the city is the best way to discover its history. In the shadow of the Acropolis, Plaka is a particularly interesting neighbourhood with a village feel, full of traditional Greek taverns, churches, and smaller museums - as well as the Cine Paris, a charming outdoor cinema with a stunning view of the Acropolis. Elsewhere, don't miss the famous changing of the guards in Constitution Square every hour on the hour.

A veritable Paradise Island, famed for its whitewashed towns perched on high volcanic cliffs, Santorini is a holiday destination that's sure to be memorable.

Formed from a cataclysmic volcanic eruption in the 17th century BC, Santorini has a breathtakingly unique landscape, and Oia is perhaps the most photographed town on the island. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander between white houses and blue-domed churches, savouring stunning views of the caldera.

To get a taste of local life on the island, Pyrgos is a small village just 8 km from Fira, filled with authentic eateries and traditional Greek charm.

If you have the time, it’s also worth exploring more of the landscape of this unique island. The hike from Fira to Oia will take a few hours, but it provides the best views of the caldera and the unique geography of Santorini. History lovers might also wish to visit the Akrotiri Archaeological Site, where the unearthed remains of an ancient Minoan town are preserved.
