The Norfolk Broads
The Broads are home to a wonderful mixture of open water, woodland, fen and marsh and are a National Park. Boats of every description can be hired less than 5 minutes from the hotel and used to explore the waterways and discover the varied birdlife and wildfowl. There are over 300km of footpaths and bike-hire centres throughout the Broads and a wide range of fishing for anglers of all levels.
Norfolk's Beaches
Norfolk boasts 93 miles of coastline, laden with unspoilt beaches that are clean, safe and family-friendly. They're great to enjoy throughout the seasons, all are dog-friendly and on most days have stunning sunsets.
Norwich
Visiting Norwich provides one of the best medieval experiences in Europe and the city is just 5 miles from the Norfolk Mead 4*. From the fascinating Norman Castle standing proudly over the City to the beautiful Pulls Ferry on the riverside, the Cows Tower and Bishops Bridge (the oldest in Norwich), this city makes for a fabulous day-trip. Boasting two Cathedrals, museums, galleries, the Theatre Royal, and Norwich Playhouse, there is something for everyone here.
Stately Homes & Gardens
Norfolk is an area replete with grand houses, stately homes, gardens, churches and fine historical architecture.
The Sandringham Estate and its beautiful grounds remain one of Norfolk's enduring treasures and are a must for any historians staying at the Norfolk Mead 4*. Houghton Hall & Felbrigg Hall are both stunning country houses and East Ruston Old Vicarage has one of the most remarkable gardens in the county and is a feast of floral design.
Golf Courses
Norfolk boasts some of the finest and historic Links golf courses in the UK, and all are within a short drive from the Norfolk Mead 4*. Royal West Norfolk, Hunstanton, Royal Norwich, Royal Cromer and Sheringham golf courses are all ranked amongst the best courses in the country.

The private lake is home to swans, geese and wildfowl and a leisurely stroll around the grounds is the ideal way to work up an appetite for breakfast or dinner. At the heart of the Norfolk Mead 4* is the walled garden, with lush lawns, rose bushes and a large sheltered terrace to ensure you can enjoy afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks.
