Day 3: Etosha National Park
Be sure your camera batteries are charged, as today you might decide to participate in an (optional) full-day safari on site in Etosha National Park, where you can get up close and personal with a host of wildlife.
For over 100 years, zebras, elephants, giraffes, oryx antelopes, blue wildebeests, gazelles, kudus and a host of other rare animals have roamed peacefully through the park. The tourist vehicles meandering along the dusty gravel roads are barely perceptible. With a bit of luck, you may even catch a glimpse of the nocturnal predators such as lions, leopards, hyenas or jackals. But ornithologists also get their money's worth with hundreds of bird species.
The Etosha Pan is a vast salt plain that, depending on the season, is dry and dusty in the midday heat or attracts thousands of migratory birds after heavy rains.
Once the sun sets, the park becomes quieter, and you return to the lodge.
Dinner (drinks not included) and overnight with breakfast in Etosha.

If you just can't get enough of Etosha National Park, you can choose to participate again today in an (optional) safari.

Upon arrival in the port town of Walvis Bay, you can visit the lagoon, one of the most important wetlands on the African continent and a RAMSAR World Heritage Site. Over 80% of Africa's flamingos feed in this lagoon and make an impressive sight when they appear in groups.
Continue your journey along the panoramic road between the dunes and the Atlantic Ocean to reach Swakopmund, where you have the rest of the day at leisure.
With palm trees lining the streets and promenades, Swakopmund is a popular holiday destination in Namibia. The pleasant summer climate and long beaches attract anglers and surfers from all over Southern Africa.
Swakopmund is an idyllic blend of German architecture and African rhythms.

Day 5: Swakopmund
Swakopmund is often referred to as the 'playground of Namibia'. There are countless activities and adventures to be had, including discovering the fascinating Namib Desert and its incredible ecosystem.
Enjoy the relaxed pace of this idyllic coastal town over coffee and freshly baked cakes in one of the many cafés. You can also take an (optional) day trip into the desert, admire the breathtaking scenery on a scenic flight from the air, try a parachute jump over the desert, or go quad biking or sandboarding through the dunes. You will visit Twyfelfontein, a heritage site where the Bushmen carved and painted over 2500 images 6000 years ago!
