The village is known for its joie de vivre and breathtaking views, especially when the sun shines on its multi-coloured dwellings.. The Li Galli islands, the three rocky, solitary islands (Gallo Lungo, Castelluccio and Rotonda) located just a few kilometres from Positano beach, are reflected in the clear sea opposite the pearl of the Amalfi Coast.
- According to ancient legends, they were inhabited by mermaids who seduced sailors with their melodious voices. They then lost control of their ships, which crashed inexorably onto the rocks of the islands.
- Regularly visited by Tiberius, protected by the Angevins with the Tower to deter looters from taking refuge there, the islands are now inhabited by residents of interest, including the choreographer Leonide Massine (who built a magnificent villa here on the ruins of an ancient Roman villa later decorated by the architect Le Corbusier) and the legendary ballet dancer, Rudolph Nureyev.

DAY 5: POSITANO / AMALFI (navigation time: 1h)
- After breakfast, head for Amalfi (6 nautical miles from Positano), passing near Praiano and Cona dei Marini en route. Make a short stop to visit the amazing fjord of Furore, a deep fault in the rock at the mouth of a steep valley that falls into the sea. It is home to a small beach and a tiny, picturesque fishing village. It was here, among the picturesque 'monazzeni' (fisherman's dwellings), that the stormy relationship between Roberto Rossellini and Nannarella began during the filming of 'L'Amore'.
- The houses, now uninhabited, have been transformed into an interesting Ecomuseum. The fjord is spanned by a 30-metre-high suspension bridge, along which the main coastal road runs. A high-flying diving championship is held here on the first Sunday in July.
- From there, continue on to Amalfi, which lies just behind Capo di Conca. Amalfi (a UNESCO World Heritage site) is one of the four Italian republics. It is steeped in history and rich in fascinating old buildings and museums. Saint Andrew's Cathedral in Piazza Duomo, the Basilica of the Crucifix, the former arsenal of the Maritime Republic and the Paper Museum are just some of Amalfi's must-see spots.

- In the morning, we suggest you take a bus from Amalfi to Ravello. Perched on a rocky outcrop, 365 metres above sea level, Ravello lies right in the middle of the Amalfi Coast, overlooking the entire Gulf of Salerno. It is one of the most popular destinations on what's affectionately known as 'the Divine Coast', due to the irresistible fascination and fame that have made it famous the world over. Ravello is a perfect combination of art and music that deserves its recognition as a UNESCO cultural heritage site and its designation as the City of Music.
- Villa Ruffolo, Villa Cimbrone, Villa Rondinaia and the famous Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium are sure to delight.
- In the early afternoon, the catamaran will set course for Sorrento, leaving the Amalfi coast to approach the Sorrento coast. During the 18 nautical mile crossing between Amalfi and Sorrento, admire exceptional scenery and swim in a magnificent bay (the Bay of Nerano or Marina di Puolo).

Your destination —
Amalfi Coast
This spellbinding stretch of Italian coastline in the Campania region is beloved for its sky-high cliffs and pastel-coloured buildings leading down to the deep blue sea. Experience fine Italian dining in Positano, marvel at stunning ocean views from alpine Ravello, and step back in time in historic Pompeii.
Ischia
Capri
The magnificent Isle of Capri emerges from the Tyrrhenian Sea, facing the Sorrento peninsula. It became famous in 1826, following the discovery of the Grotta Azzurra (Azure Cave). Capri is adored by travellers, stars and intellectuals alike, popular with tourists because of its beautifully manicured gardens, impossibly blue sea, and bougainvillea tumbling down the facades of the elegant villas that you will see at every turn.
The Roman emperor Tiberius, who self-exiled on the island was one of the first to remain charmed by it: the magnificent villa Jovis, also known as "palazzo di Tiberio" (Tiberius' palace), a 45-minute walk from the small church of St. Michael, belonged to him.
Procida
Procida may be the smallest island in the Gulf of Naples, but what it lacks in size, it certainly makes up for in splendour. Get your camera at the ready as you wander through picturesque streets lined with pastel-coloured houses that simply beg to be captured on film.
An island filled with locals rather than tourists, in Procida you'll get an authentic glimpse Italian nonnas hanging out their washing, butchers laying out their produce for the day, and fisherman getting ready to head out to sea. Relax, sip on a frothy cappuccino while tasting a local pastry, visit the fifteenth-century walled city of Terra Murata and unwind on Postino beach with dramatic cliffs rising in the background.
