Your Destinations

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a lush, tropical island paradise, known to ancient Greek mariners as Taprobane. Arab traders called it Serendib – hence the word "serendipity", meaning discovery by happy accident. It was famously described by Marco Polo as "undoubtedly the finest island of its size in the world".

This is a culturally rich and environmentally diverse country, with 9 World Heritage Sites (the oldest dating back to the 3rd Century BC); 86 species of mammals (including elephant and leopard) and more than 400 bird species (including 26 endemics); a colorful array of flowering plants and trees, and a Hill Country famous for tea; 14 National Parks out of 100 areas protected by the government; and an Indian Ocean coastline boasting palm-fringed and sandy tropical beaches.

Maldives

Unrivalled luxury, stunning white-sand beaches and an amazing underwater world make the Maldives an obvious choice for a true holiday of a lifetime. The Maldives is home to perhaps the best beaches in the world; they’re on almost every one of the country’s nearly 1200 islands and are so consistently perfect that it’s hard not to become blasé about them.

With some of the best diving and snorkelling in the world, the clear waters of the Maldives are a magnet for anyone with an interest in marine life. The richness and variety is astonishing; dazzling coral walls, magnificent caves and schools of brightly coloured tropical fish await you when you get down to the reef. In deeper waters lurk manta rays, turtles, sharks and even the world’s largest fish, the whale shark. The best bit? The water is so warm many people don’t even wear a wetsuit.

Day 2: Negombo - Anuradhapura
Indulge in your first included breakfast, then hit the road for a drive to Anuradhapura.

Commanding a rich Sri Lankan heritage, Anuradhapura is one of the greatest and oldest civilisations in the world spanning over 1300 years in its peak - avows being the greatest city of ancient Sri Lanka following its reign as the first capital. The sapphire of its crown is certainly the Sri Maha Bodhi - the sacred Bo sapling extracted from the tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment - standing more than 2200 years in its pride. Take some time to stroll through the sacred trails of the venerated city to adore the legacy that interweaves Ruwanweliseya - the gigantic dagoba resting alongside the Basawakkulama Tank - shading the Samadhi Buddha Statue & Isurumuniya Rock Temple that empower the culture, heritage and supremacy of arguably the strongest kingdom in Sri Lankan history. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Anuradhapura - Minneriya - Dambulla
Enjoy breakfast and then take your transfer to Dambulla. After settling in the hotel, head for a Jeep Safari in Minneriya National Park where you may be lucky to see elephants or a leopard! Immerse yourself in the vegetation and observe the fauna and flora of all kinds.

Minneriya National Park is located between Habarana and Polonnaruwa. Covered an area of 8890 hectares park is an ideal place for elephant and leopard watching. The vegetation of this park is mixed evergreen and scrub areas. The important feature of this park is that 3rd century built Minneriya Tank is located in the park. During the dry season, Minneriya becomes the ideal place to observe its natural wildlife. Minneriya National Park is home to 24 species of mammals,160 species of birds, 75 species of butterflies, 9 species of amphibians, 26 species of fish and 25 species of reptiles.
Day 4: Dambulla - Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Dambulla
After breakfast, leave for the Sigiriya Rock Fortress where you could climb the 1200 steps and admire the fabulous frescoes on the walls of the ancient rock fortress.

The Sigiriya Rock Fortress is known as the 8th wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare, was the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restoredSigiriya 5th-century water gardens to their former glory.
After lunch, drive to Polonnaruwa, the former capital of the island in the 12th century where you will see the remains of this glorious past. Do not miss Gal-Vihara and its famous reclining Buddha carved into a rock. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Dambulla - Matale - Kandy
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to the Golden Temple of Dambulla. Located in the north central province, this UNESCO World Heritage Site which dates back to the 1st Century BC, is an amazing complex of 5 caves. First used as a refuge by an ancient king who on regaining his throne, commissioned magnificent carved images within the living rock. Later, kings made further improvements and the caves now contain over 150 images of Buddha, of which the largest is a colossal figure spanning 15 metres.
Next, continue to Matale to visit a spice garden. Discover the lush flora and multiple varieties of aromatic herbs used in everyday cooking in Sri Lanka. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka's celebrated exports and are mostly grown in home gardens (as a home industry) and used not only to flavour food but also for medicine and cosmetics. You will then enjoy some time to relax and receive a massage.

Thereafter, continue to Kandy for a visit to a Batik workshop and gem Museum. Batik has been an ancient art of painting cloth and today, Sri Lanka is among the world leaders in the design of batik. Batik galleries and factories offer batik from simple single-coloured designs to intricate multi-coloured masterpieces.
Kandy is a lovely city, the Hill Capital and the last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings retains an aura of grandeur, which time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned "Temple of the Tooth". This afternoon you will visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a Buddhist temple in the City of Kandy. It is considered the foremost sacred place of worship in the Buddhist World. According to legend, the tooth was taken from the Buddha as he lay on his funeral pyre. It immediately became an object of great reverence and was enshrined in a series of nested jewelled reliquaries. On the outside, the temple buildings are not magnificent or elaborately decorated. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Kandy
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya for an optional visit. Following this, head back to Kandy for free time to walk around Kandy Lake and to explore the city. At the end of the day, attend a traditional dance show. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Ella
After breakfast proceed to 'Little England' otherwise named Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya is set in the heart of tea-country is a beautiful town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh – a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

You will stop at Ramboda to see the beautiful waterfall, then visit the tea plantations and a factory to understand how one of the most famous teas in the world is made. Weather permitting, stroll through the small town of Nuwara Eliya which has kept its colonial style before continuing to Ella. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Ella
After breakfast, start your day in Ella walking around the town and taking in the beautiful scenery, where you will find sumptuous landscapes, hills and breathtaking views of the plains. Depart for your ascent of Little Adam's Peak, a hill that dominates the area and offers you a spectacular view. This small hike is of an accessible level and will take between 2-3 hours round trip. You will then follow the railway line to the Nine Arches Bridge which is almost 30 metres high, located in luxurious vegetation and stupendous landscapes. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Ella - Maldives
After breakfast, it is time to take your transfer to meet an elephant owner, who takes care of these beloved animals. Learn all about these wonderful creatures, which are known as an emblem of the country. You will get to attend an elephant bath and discover the secrets making of "elephant paper".
