Currency:

The Sri Lanka Rupee (LKR) Denominations – Notes Rs. 10, Rs. 20, Rs. 50, Rs. 100, Rs. 500, Rs. 1000 and Rs. 5000 and in Coins Rs. 1, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10. We recommend the exchange of currency be done at a bank or authorized currency exchange which offers legal tender and a better rate than at a hotel.

Credit Cards:

MasterCard, Visa and American Express cards are accepted widely around the island at hotels, shops, restaurants and malls. However, many small outlets prefer cash and hence it is recommended to carry some cash.

Precautions:

Generally, Sri Lanka is a safe country; however, it is your responsibility to secure your belongings and valuables at all times. Use safety lockers if provided in rooms for your valuables or lock them securely in your luggage. Do NOT leave valuables including your passports lying around loosely including in your hotel bedrooms when you are not occupying it. When moving around in public ensure your wallet is secure and ideally spread your money in different holders to minimize risk if lost or stolen.

Attire:

Comfortable cottons and flat-heeled foot-ware is best when touring. Shorts, t-shirts, and slippers are accepted. However, on a visit to a temple clothes worn must cover shoulders & knees. Head-wear and foot-wear must be removed before entering a temple. At hotels casual attire at breakfast and lunch is accepted but at dinner guests are expected to be attired in smart casual attire Outdoors during the day can be warm and hot therefore sunglasses and sun-screens are recommended. In places like Yala and where it is tropically warm, you may find mosquitos and hence protecting your children especially (and yourself) with a repellent is advised. Many local pharmacies have such and can be purchased over the counter

Check-in and check-out outside the hotel's standard times are subject to availability and may incur additional fees, please check with the hotel prior to your visit. 

Please note, any included meals are usually served at the hotel’s main buffet restaurant (unless stated otherwise). Alternative food and beverage outlets may not be applicable to your board basis and/or available at selected times only. Please see directly with the hotel for further details of your board conditions. 

Your all inclusive benefits:

• Minibar (one refill per day): 2 soft drinks, 2 fruit juices, 2 beers, 2 wines (375ml), 2 assorted snacks.
• Occasional snacks served in certain outlets from 10:00 to 18:00.
• Dinner out: one à la carte meal per person per stay (for stays of 5 nights or more). Prior reservations are required for dine-arounds. Special events in à la carte restaurants are not included.
• Beverages from Specialty Restaurants are not part of the all inclusive package. However, drinks will be served from a selected all-inclusive menu at these outlets.
• 15% discount on à la carte restaurants.
• The main bar and pool terrace are open from 10:00 to 01:00. The main restaurant serves meals only.
• All drinks are served by the glass, one at a time.

Diving, spa, sports and excursions:

• 10% discount on certain diving rates (see on-site).
• 15% off certain Spa treatments (see on-site, subject to availability and prior booking).
• Snorkelling equipment hire for the duration of your stay.
• Canoeing and windsurfing (one hour per day, subject to availability and prior booking).
• Sauna and steam bath (subject to availability and prior booking).
• One sunset fishing trip per person per stay for guests staying a minimum of 6 nights.
• Gym, aerobics, billiards, darts, table tennis, squash, day tennis, badminton and beach volleyball.
• All sports are available subject to availability and prior booking. Lessons and certification are at an extra charge.

What's included for:

• Honeymoons *: A bottle of sparkling wine and a fruit basket for honeymooners (for marriages celebrated within the last 12 months prior to the date of arrival).
• Wedding anniversaries *: A bottle of sparkling wine and a cake for wedding anniversaries celebrated in the hotel.
• Birthdays: A birthday cake and a bottle of wine for birthdays celebrated at the resort.

* Please note: All honeymoon and wedding anniversary requests must include marriage certificates and must be notified at the time of booking or be specified in the service voucher.

The all inclusive package does not include:

• Food and beverages not included in the above list, such as other alcoholic beverages, liqueurs and selections from the wine list
• Room service food and drinks and alcohol from the minibar in the room, with the exception of items not listed above
• Drinks are served from 01:00 to 10:00, except for the main restaurant during breakfast
• Local and international telephone calls
• Mandatory extra charge for Christmas and New Year's Eve
• Jewellery shop / souvenir shop / laundry service
• Drinks consumed during excursions or other outdoor activities are not included in this all-inclusive package and will therefore be charged at the hotel rate
• Diving and all other leisure or sports activities (on land or water) not listed here as all-inclusive activities.
• Transfers from/to the airport/hotel complex/airport
• All other services, facilities and equipment not mentioned here as all-inclusive are also not included in this all-inclusive package

Please note:

• There are no refunds for missed meals and no benefits of the package can be transferred to another guest.
• All guests staying in the same room must be accommodated in the same hotel.
• Alcoholic beverages will not be served to persons under the age of 18.
• The all-inclusive package is only available for the guests' entire stay and guests who shorten their stay will not receive a refund.
• The hotel is not liable for any equipment, services and facilities that cannot be used due to weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control.
• A wristband must be worn at all times when checking into the hotel to identify eligibility for all-inclusive services and must be returned to the cashiers at check-in at reception.
• An additional charge of EUR 15.00 (USD 20.00) will be made for a new wristband if the wristband is lost.
• The benefits of the package can be used until departure or until the departure time at 12:00 noon, whichever is earlier. In the event that the transfer is delayed or brought forward due to the rescheduling of the transfer, guests will not be able to request a refund.

If you book a package which includes flights, your contract will be with Voyage Privé. The air holiday package(s) shown are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 10170.

If you book a package which does not include flights, then ATOL protection does not apply. Your contract will be with the provider of the accommodation and not Voyage Privé. Voyage Privé acts only as agent for the accommodation provider.
