Your Destinations —
Madrid
Explore some of the 7,000 works of art from the 12th to the 19th centuries in the Museo del Prado and see the work of Goya, El Greco, da Ribera and Velázquez, in what is inarguably the best collection of Spanish paintings in the world.
The beautiful Retiro Park is perfect for a day in the sunshine or for a relaxing stroll at the end of the day. As the sun sets, you'll find a wealth of tapas bars in the local area opening their doors - try traditional Spanish meats, cheeses and breads along with your beer, wine or sherry.
If you find yourself out as late as 2am, wander over to the vibrant Mercado de San Miguel, showcasing an extraordinary array of market foods and now a popular nightspot where locals gather to enjoy drinks, tapas and even watch a concert.
Seville
Most of Seville's museums are located in historical buildings that you want to look at almost as much as their exhibits, from the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Carthusian Monastery, to the Museum of Art and Popular Customs in the Mudejar Pavilion and the Naval Museum in the Golden Tower. The Seville Museum of Fine Arts is one of the most important galleries in Spain, while the Bullfighting Museum manages to communicate all the spectacle of the occasion it celebrates.
The city boasts numerous pubs, restaurants and sidewalk cafés where you can enjoy a good time, good wine and delicious Andalusian dishes in equal measure. In Seville City Centre, you will find the best of Spanish and international shops, as well as small street markets with charming regional products.
Cordoba
The narrow streets of the old Judería (Jewish quarter) and Muslim quarter stretch out from the great mosque like capillaries (to the northwest and northeast respectively), some clogged with tourist bric-a-brac, others delightfully peaceful. The life of the modern city focuses a little further north, around Plaza de las Tendillas, where you'll find a more boisterous vibe with some excellent bars and restaurants. Andalucía's major river, the Guadalquivir, flows just below the Mezquita, and the riverfront streets are home to a growing band of lively restaurants and bars making the most of the view.
Granada
Sparkling with light, endless and pleasurable, the Granada night will carry you from the lively area around the bullring to the Pícaro Café in Calle Navas, where jazz is yours to enjoy. Also, the exotic teashops to Hanningan and Sons (a famous Irish pub). We suggest the following options: live music at the terraces of the hotel in the summer nights, and the Poetry Sessions, unique in town.
