Your Destinations

Madrid

Madrid is a fantastic destination for a city break, oozing with history and culture. Wander through this incredible city, discover the latest exhibitions in the National Museum and explore the La Latina neighbourhood.

Explore some of the 7,000 works of art from the 12th to the 19th centuries in the Museo del Prado and see the work of Goya, El Greco, da Ribera and Velázquez, in what is inarguably the best collection of Spanish paintings in the world.

The beautiful Retiro Park is perfect for a day in the sunshine or for a relaxing stroll at the end of the day. As the sun sets, you'll find a wealth of tapas bars in the local area opening their doors - try traditional Spanish meats, cheeses and breads along with your beer, wine or sherry.

If you find yourself out as late as 2am, wander over to the vibrant  Mercado de San Miguel, showcasing an extraordinary array of market foods and now a popular nightspot where locals gather to enjoy drinks, tapas and even watch a concert.

Seville

Seville exhibits both natural and architectural graces, including a perfect climate, and an Arabic past filled with splendour. For the relics of this past, look no further than the Royal Palaces, the Golden Tower and the Giralda Bell Tower. Other high points of the city's architecture include the gothic extravagance of its Cathedral and the indescribable magic of its Triana and Santa Cruz Districts.

Most of Seville's museums are located in historical buildings that you want to look at almost as much as their exhibits, from the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Carthusian Monastery, to the Museum of Art and Popular Customs in the Mudejar Pavilion and the Naval Museum in the Golden Tower. The Seville Museum of Fine Arts is one of the most important galleries in Spain, while the Bullfighting Museum manages to communicate all the spectacle of the occasion it celebrates.

The city boasts numerous pubs, restaurants and sidewalk cafés where you can enjoy a good time, good wine and delicious Andalusian dishes in equal measure. In Seville City Centre, you will find the best of Spanish and international shops, as well as small street markets with charming regional products.

Cordoba

One building alone is enough to put Córdoba high on any traveller's itinerary: the mesmerising multiarched Mezquita. One of the world's greatest Islamic buildings, it's a symbol of the worldly and sophisticated Islamic culture that flourished here more than a millennium ago when Córdoba was the capital of Islamic Spain, and Western Europe's biggest and most cultured city. Once here, you'll find there's much more to this city: Córdoba is a great place for exploring on foot or by bicycle, staying and eating well in old buildings centred on verdant patios, diving into old wine bars, and feeling millennia of history at every turn.

The narrow streets of the old Judería (Jewish quarter) and Muslim quarter stretch out from the great mosque like capillaries (to the northwest and northeast respectively), some clogged with tourist bric-a-brac, others delightfully peaceful. The life of the modern city focuses a little further north, around Plaza de las Tendillas, where you'll find a more boisterous vibe with some excellent bars and restaurants. Andalucía's major river, the Guadalquivir, flows just below the Mezquita, and the riverfront streets are home to a growing band of lively restaurants and bars making the most of the view.

Granada

There is much to see in Granada - The Alhambra Palace and Generalife, Calle de las Teterías, the Lorca House & Museum, the Carthusian Monastery, Plaza de San Miguel Bajo, Parque de las Ciencias, the Cathedral, Campo del Príncipe and the Capilla Real, and so much more!

Sparkling with light, endless and pleasurable, the Granada night will carry you from the lively area around the bullring to the Pícaro Café in Calle Navas, where jazz is yours to enjoy. Also, the exotic teashops to Hanningan and Sons (a famous Irish pub). We suggest the following options: live music at the terraces of the hotel in the summer nights, and the Poetry Sessions, unique in town.

Please note that the advice can change and consumers should continue to check it until they travel.

Entry Requirements

You must ensure you have a valid passport to travel on.

If your passport describes you as a British Citizen, you do not need a visa to enter Spain. For non-British citizens, you should check the current entry requirements on the website of the Spanish Embassy.

Health

Visit your health professional at least 8 weeks before your trip to check whether you need any vaccinations or other preventive measures.

Brexit
If you are travelling to the EU, the UK government recommends that you have six months left on your passport on the date of your arrival to an EU country. You should also check when your passport was renewed.

If you renewed a 10-year adult passport before it expired, extra months may have been added to your passport’s expiry date. These extra months over 10 years will not count towards the 6 months that must be remaining. The UK Government has published a website tool to check the validity of your passport under these rules: https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/check-a-passport

You can renew your passport online or by going to a Post Office with a Check and Send service: https://www.gov.uk/renew-adult-passport/renew

If your passport does not meet the criteria for third-country nationals, you may be denied entry to any of the Schengen area countries.
