7-night Tour
DAY 1: KATHMANDU
- On arrival, you will be met by our representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel (ETA: 14h00 approximately).
- If energies permit after your travels, visit the Buddhnath Stupa - the largest Buddhist Stupa in the world. Painted in pretty pastel colours, it's adorned with fluttering prayer flags. A total of 108 Buddha images and 147 prayer wheel inserts adorn the base of the huge circular building.
- Our suggestion (optional, extra charge): Experience a blessing in the company of a senior Lama at the monastery.
- Visit the temple of Pashupatinath - one of the holiest Hindu temples in the world, and one of the top five pilgrimage sites for Hindus.
- Our suggestion (optional, extra charge): Attend the arati Hindu worship ceremony at Pashupatinath on the banks of the Bagmati riverbank.

DAY 2: KATHMANDU VALLEY
- This morning, set off to visit the Changu Narayan Temple. Dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu (the preserver), it's situated on a ridge overlooking Kathmandu valley, about 12km east of the city and is considered to be the oldest pagoda temple in Nepal, built in 323 AD. The sacred complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the temple admire many Himalayan peaks.
Day 3: Kathmandu - Chitwan
- The pretty drive to Chitwan will take 5 - 6 hours in normal road conditions (possibly longer in case of traffic jams or landslides).
- Upon arrival, at the park entry point (Chitwan), you'll cross the river on a small ferry and enter Chitwan National Park. You'll be welcomed by a naturalist and enjoy some light refreshments during an informative briefing session.
- You'll have the option to try one of a range of jungle activities including canyoning, a jungle walk and a visit to a Tharu dwelling.
- Enjoy a hearty meal of continental or Nepalese cuisine around the campfire.

DAY 4: CHITWAN
- Wake up early today to oberve the wildlife in Chitwan National Park. The dewy grass before dawn (18-20 feet high) is the ideal habitat for rhinos, tigers and other wildlife.
- Spend 2-3 hours in the jungle, before returning to camp for breakfast.
- Again today, you can opt to try one of a range of jungle activities including canyoning, a jungle walk and a visit to a Tharu dwelling.
- Our suggestion (optional, extra cost): Enjoy some refreshments in a small local bar, such as fresh fish and shellfish, accompnied by a cool drink.

Day 5: ROUTE TO POKHARA: 97 miles / 4-5 hours
- After breakfast, transfer to the park exit point, where a vehicle awaits, for the 4-5 hour scenic drive to Pokhara.
- Your next destination lies nestled in a quiet valley, behind the mighty Annapurna Himalayan range, and is considered to be a Himalayan holiday paradise.
- While Kathmandu boasts medieval monuments and historic palaces, Pokhara beckons with a slower, more natural way of life.
- Observe 'mule trains' passing through the town centre, as they have for centuries, carrying food and other goods to remote Himalayan villages and the Tibetan border.
- In contrast, spot modern ultra-light aircraft humming and paragliders soaring high above, as if in defiance of the mountains dominating the northern horizon.
- Enjoy a morning walk to Sarangkot to see the glorious sunrise and the 'giants of the Western Himalayan range'. Arriving at Phewa Lake, visitors can enjoy splendid views of Machhapuchare Peak.

Important, please note:
- The expansion of the road between Mugling and Pokhara (approximately 50 miles) is currently underway.
- This results in slow traffic and uncomfortable driving conditions, due to bumpy roads at many points along the route.
- Groups often reach their destinations hours late.
- Guests can opt for a domestic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu, to avoid using the same route on the return journey.
DAY 6: POKHARA
- Rise early again this morning, and set off on a short walk (approx. one mile / 30 minutes) to the ancient Kaski Fort, perched atop a hill 3 miles west of the Pokhara valley. Drink in magnificent views of the Pokhara valley, the peaceful lake of Phewa and the various peaks of the Annapurna mountain range.
- After tea/coffee at Sarangkot (1,592 m), return to your hotel for breakfast.
- Later, board your vehicle, headed for Kalimati to visit the World Peace Stupa, situated on a hill on the southern shore of Lake Phewa. As well as being an impressive sight in its own right, the sanctuary enjoys a magnificent vantage point, offering spectacular views.
- Descend the hill through the wooded slopes where your guide will explain the flora and fauna.
- On reaching the shores of the lake, embark on an early evening cruise on Lake Phewa.
- Weather permitting, take a guided tour of Pokhara, including the Davis Falls, the Seti Gorge, the Bindabashini temple and the Tibetan refugee camp.

Flight over the Himalayas on Day 2 or 3
Mountain flights offer the closest possible aerial views of Mount Everest, Kanchanjunga and the Tibetan Plateau. Twice the size of the Alps, their immensity is breathtaking. This 45-minute flight offers an incredible panorama, which you can enjoy from the front row.
Itinerary:
- Planes take off from either TIA or Kathmandu.
- Once on board, an agent will give you a map of the "Himalayan peaks". This map contains information about the different peaks you will see during the mountain flight. You will also receive a briefing on the mountains you will see. You will see breathtakingly beautiful mountains over 8,000 metres above sea level, such as Cho-Oyu, Shisha Pangma, Mount Everest and Lhotse, from a guaranteed window seat on the aircraft.
- Flying in the mountains allows you to enjoy fantastic views, but also helps you understand Nepal's geography. With an early morning departure, you'll enjoy the best views of the Himalayas.
- During the flight, you will see 20 of the highest peaks in eastern Nepal, starting with Langtang Lirung, which is the closest peak to Kathmandu, then you will head towards Mount Everest in the east (some 30 km from your window), and finally Chamlang.
- From here, the plane turns around and passengers can enjoy the view a second time as they fly back to Kathmandu.
