Your Itinerary in Detail

10-night tour

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN WINDHOEK

On arrival in Namibia, you will collect the rental vehicle from the international airport before heading to Windhoek to spend the afternoon at your leisure.

DAY 2: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK - ONGUMA PRIVATE RESERVE (APPROX. 530 KILOMETRES)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Etosha National Park, in the Onguma Private Game Reserve.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 3: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

While you're in the park, take the opportunity to meet the African fauna on a safari (optional at extra cost)!

Breakfast, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 4: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

For over 100 years, zebras, elephants, giraffes, oryx, blue wildebeest, gazelles, kudu and a variety of other rare animals have roamed the park in peace. Tourist vehicles meandering along the dusty gravel roads are barely noticeable. If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of nocturnal predators such as lions, leopards, hyenas or jackals roaming the savannah. But birdwatchers will also be in for a treat with hundreds of species of birds.

The Etosha Basin is a large salt pan which, depending on the season, is dry and dusty in the midday heat or attracts thousands of migratory birds after heavy rain.

Breakfast, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 5: DAMARALAND (APPROX. 328 KILOMETRES)

Drive to Damaraland. Discover its magnificent landscapes, made up of inselbergs, and isolated island-shaped rocks. As you approach Uis, you will admire the country's highest mountain, the Brandberg, which at 2,573 metres is home to Bushman paintings, the most famous of which is the White Lady.

Breakfast, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6: Swakopmund

Before setting off for Swakopmund, you can opt for an optional visit to the Petrified Forest, the town of Twyfelfontein or the village of Damara!

Breakfast and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 7: SWAKOPMUND

Swakopmund is a city with an important historical past and a seaside resort on the Atlantic Ocean prized by Namibians. Built-in the early days of German colonisation to serve as a port, this town of particular charm, built according to the references of Germanic architecture, has managed to retain its unique character over time and through political changes.

Breakfast and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 8: NAMIB DESERT (APPROX. 365 KILOMETRES)

From Swakopmund, you'll head into the Namib Desert. This is the gateway to the Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei, where some of the world's highest sand dunes rise above the white plains of the desert.

Breakfast and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 9: SOSSUSVLEI

Set off early today to witness the sunrise with magnificent views along the road to Sossusvlei. Shortly after sunrise, enter the Namib Naukluft National Park where the first rays of the sun colour the sand mountains in shades of apricot, red and orange, against a clear blue sky. Admire surreal Deadvlei, surrounded by some of the highest dunes in the world, and Sossusvlei, where the dried-up Tsauchab River ends abruptly between the dunes. Take the opportunity to climb one of these majestic dunes and admire the desert landscape at the top.

Descend along the rocks towards the Sesriem Canyon. Those who don't know this canyon exists could easily miss it!

Breakfast and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 10: KALAHARI DESERT (approx. 310 km)

It's time to head to the Kalahari Desert and its typical savannah! Once you've arrived at your lodge, you can opt, as an optional extra, for a guided excursion into the desert by car.

Breakfast, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 11: FLIGHT BACK (APPROXIMATELY 254 KILOMETRES)

DAY 10: LÜDERITZ (APPROX. 347 KILOMETRES)

Take advantage of your last day in the Namib Desert to visit the charming village of Lüderitz, in the south of the territory. This village is inhabited by the Nama people, who live off livestock and agriculture. It forms a stage town between the desert and the Fish River Canyon, the extension of your adventure!

Breakfast and overnight at the lodge.

DAYS 11 TO 12: FISH RIVER CANYON (APPROX. 287 KILOMETRES)

During your days there, you can discover the spectacular scenery of the Canyon, as you wind your way along the roads to the ghost town of Kolmanskop, or marvel at the viewpoint over the Fish River.

Breakfast and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 13: KALAHARI DESERT (approx. 449 km)

It's time to head out into the Kalahari Desert and its savannah typical! Once you've arrived at your lodge, you can opt, as an optional extra, for a guided excursion into the desert by car. You can also visit the Garas forest, an essential part of the region.

Catamaran cruise: AM Dolphin and Seal Cruise (Walvis Bay, Swakopmund region)

Your Optional Excursions

We set sail between 08:45 and 09:00 (check-in 08:30) every morning from our jetty on the Walvis Bay waterfront for an educational marine tour of the bay area in search of the marine Big 5: whales, dolphins, Mola, leatherback turtles and seals.

While serving hot coffee and tea, our initial itinerary takes us past oyster beds before approaching Pelican Point, its iconic lighthouse and its 60,000 resident Cape fur seals.

We round the point and head out to sea. In season (July to November), large mammals such as the southern right whale and the humpback whale are often seen, while other whale species such as the grey whale and the pygmy right whale have made appearances. Bottlenose dolphins, Heaviside dolphins and dusky dolphins are regularly seen, as are moon fish and leatherback turtles. Our three catamarans are accompanied by a wide variety of seabirds, including marsh gulls, Hartlaubs' gulls, pelicans and Cape cormorants. We hoist the sails of our four sailing catamarans whenever possible, switch off the engines and let our guests experience the real sailing. They can even help set the sails and adjust the ropes.

Our journey from Pelican Point takes us past some of the bay's most interesting ships and oil rigs. We serve fresh oysters with sparkling wine, savoury snacks and desserts, as well as light drinks, soft drinks and mineral water. Return to the Waterfront around 12.30 pm.

The price includes :

Fresh Atlantic oysters served with bread, lemons, black pepper and Tabasco sauce Seafood platters Meat platters Canapés platters with various cocktail cakes Soft drinks, fruit juices, beer, mineral water, coffee and tea

Sandwich Harbour 4x4

Your Optional Excursions

Leaving the Walvis Waterfront, we take a short break at the Walvis Bay lagoon to observe the masses of flamingos and other coastal birds that reside in and around the lagoon at different times of the year.

From here, the drive takes us first to the Kuiseb River delta, a dry riverbed where we might spot a few springbok, oryx or jackals. As this area is part of our Kuiseb Delta concession, we are the only operator allowed access.
Time and tide permitting, we will make our way to Sandwich Harbour lagoon along the beach, one of the richest and most unique wetlands in southern Africa and one of five RAMSAR sites (Ramsar site no. 743) in Namibia. Sandwich Harbour has two distinct wetlands and associated mudflats. One is fed by an aquifer and contains typical emergent vegetation, but is slowly disappearing for natural reasons.
The second is tidally influenced and consists of raised mudflats and shingle banks. Wedged between the sea and the Namib dunes, it is one of Namibia's most important coastal wetlands, home to eight endangered species including a large number of wading birds.

Several archaeological sites dating back a thousand years exist on the site. Human activities include fishing, guano collection and hunting. If our vehicles are unable to drive along the beach to Sandwich Harbour due to high tide, you will have the opportunity to view the lagoon area from one of our many beautiful vantage points and have time to walk and explore. We'll have time to walk and explore. We'll have time to stop along the way for photos.
When it's time to eat, your guide simply finds a suitable spot to stop and serve a selection of oysters and snacks along with sparkling wine, beers and soft drinks. We usually do this at the top of a high dune overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, between the dunes or on the beach.
Our excursion will introduce us to the typical flora and fauna of the region. Animals that have adapted to the desert include the black-backed jackal, the fog beetle, the dancing spider (white lady of the Namib), the golden mole, the flat-nosed lizard, the palm gecko, the springbok, the oryx, the brown hyena and the ostrich.

The return route passes spectacularly high dunes and guests can experience an exhilarating 4x4 drive, before returning to the beach for an easy cruise home.
