Day 2: Arrival in Beijing (Lunch Included)
Upon arrival in Beijing, you'll be met by a guide and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before you visit the Temple of Heaven. Enjoy free time for dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel in Beijing.
Day 3: Beijing (Breakfast and Lunch Included)
Enjoy an excursion to the iconic Great Wall. Take your time as you head up to the Badaling section. Afterwards. head back to the city for lunch in a local restaurant. Continue on to visit the Summer Palace, a place that once hosted Qing Dynasty Emperors on holiday outside of the Forbidden City. After, you will enjoy a Chinese traditional Medicine presentation before having dinner in your own free time. Overnight stay at your hotel in Beijing.
Take a morning stroll in Tian An Men before spending the rest of the day at the Forbidden City. Lunch. Then transfer to the 798 Art District, a site full of small modern art galleries, which was transformed by a factory. You will then enjoy dinner in your own free time. You will also have the chance to head to a Kung Fu Show in the evening, which is payable locally.
Day 5: Beijing - Pingyao (606 km / 4 hours 15 minutes - Breakfast and Lunch Included)
Take the morning rapid train to Pingyao, where the old town is surrounded by city walls that date from the 14th century, still keeping the city's charm intact. Upon arrival, sample a tasty lunch in a local restaurant, before visiting the city wall. Stroll in the Ming and Qing dynasty streets, visit the ancient bank Rishengchang and stop off at the ancient government. Afterwards, visit the Taoist temple Qingxuguan, the most important temple in Pingyao, which covers the Pingyao Museum. Enjoy dinner in your own free time and an overnight stay at your hotel in Pingyao.
Take a morning transfer to the railway station, before a high-speed train to Xi'an. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Head to the Great Mosque of the city, constructed in a Chinese style that dates from the Tang Dynasty. Stroll in the local streets and visit a jade workshop before enjoying free time for dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel in Xi'an.
Day 7: Xi'an (100 km / 2 hours - Breakfast and Lunch Included)
In the morning, head to the Pagoda of the Small Wild Goose, following a demonstration of Chinese calligraphy. Sample a Mongol hot pot for lunch and in the afternoon, head to the site of the Terracotta Army. The 6000-strong army of the first Emperor of China, Qinshihuangdi, have been frozen in time in 3 pits. The exposition hall displays these precious collections. Head back to the city and enjoy free time for dinner and an overnight stay in your hotel. You will also have the option to head to a Tang Dynasty sing and dancing show in the evening with a dumpling dinner, which is payable locally.
In the morning, visit a local fruit and vegetable market where local people often shop, before visiting the Wuxingjie Church, constructed in 1716, and the biggest in the city. Afterwards, visit the Shaanxi Historical Museum and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Transfer to the railway station and take a 6.5-hour rapid train to Shanghai before taking dinner on your own and a transfer to your overnight hotel.
Day 9: Shanghai - Zhuiiaiiao (50 km / 1 hour - Breakfast and Lunch Included)
Enjoy a morning visit to the Yu Garden, then stroll in the old town. Walk on the Bund by the Huangpu River and enjoy the 20th Century buildings. Transfer to the Zhujiajiao water town, a small village constructed on the canals just outside of Shanghai. On the way, visit a silk factory. Enjoy dinner in your free time, and in the evening, you will watch an amazing acrobatic show.
Depart for a visit to the Shanghai Museum, famous for its bronze collection and classic pictures. Glimpse the Urbanism museum, the government of Shanghai and the Shanghai Opera, designed by the French architect Jean-Marie Charpentier. Stroll in the Xintiandi District and view the ancient French concession by passing Fuxing park. Finally, transfer to the airport and enjoy a flight back home.
