Upon arrival at Noi Bai international airport in Hanoi, you will be welcomed by a guide and transferred to your hotel in the city centre to check in (Hotel check-in time: 14:00). Relax after a long journey.
In the afternoon, take a cycle ride around the Old Quarter streets which were named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Stop at Hoan Kiem Lake to learn about legend of the lake and visit Ngoc Son Temple, followed by the Water Puppet show - a uniquely Northern Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi – 1/2 day street food tour (B)
After breakfast, you will be free in the morning to explore the city by yourself!
15:00 - your guide will meet at the hotel. Stroll through Old Quarter, past the old east O Quan Chuong gate to Thanh Ha wet market. Along the way delicacies, strange food items and an explanation of Vietnamese food practices will be given. This busy, eclectic market is alive with the sights and sounds of Hanoi and is the essence of Vietnamese culture.
Continue through the streets of the Old Quarter to Dong Xuan market to sample some local treats such as pho tiu and bun dau. Your guide will explain the routine of Vietnam meal times and indigenous/unusual ingredients eaten. Stroll up ‘food alley’ to see other dishes on offer.
Walk down to Hang Than Street to view ceremonial cake stalls and taste a special French influenced dessert. An explanation on traditions and food gifts for celebrations will be given. Continue back into the Old Quarter via Hang Cot Street – check specially treated fruit which are dependable on the seasons and a common snack in Vietnam. Last stop at one of the Old Quarter busiest (yet smallest) coffee shops for a well-earned sit down and coffee before transferring back to your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi – Tam Coc - Hoa Lu - Bich Dong BY BIKE (B/L)
Depart from your hotel at 08.00AM. Take 2 hour drive through the rural countryside to Hoa Lu, the site of Vietnam's first capital. Mount your bike and cycle to the Dinh & Le Temples dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh (968-1009). Continue cycling for 1 hour to Tam Coc through stunning limestone karst valleys surrounded by picturesque fields and villages. Have lunch at a local restaurant before boarding your sampan for a leisurely cruise. As the boat gently slices through the water, see the enormous limestone karsts jutting out from the green rice fields giving rise to Tam Coc's other name, "Ha Long on Land". Disembark and another short cycling to Bich Dong Pagoda on nearby Ngu Nhac Mountain, dating back to 1428. Late in the afternoon, transfer back to your hotel in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

After breakfast, you will depart by road to Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. Travel through the rich farmlands of the Delta of Red river and the landscape of rice fields, water buffalo, the daily life of the Vietnamese village. Arrive in Halong and board to board a traditional junk. Lunch on board. The cruise passes by many rocks and islets in many funny shapes.
The cruise may stop for a while for visiting the Surprising Cave. Later on the junk move to docking area for ovenight. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 5: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi - Luang Prabang (Brunch)In the morning, your brunch will be served while doing further cruise to explore the beauties of the Bay before returning to the Wharf. The junk continues cruising toward Ha Long port. Ready for disembarking. Our car and guide will be there to pick you up toward Hanoi and to Noi Bai Airport for a flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, meet our local guide and drive to your hotel for check in. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
For early risers, there is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting the alms. As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents. It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Laos people. Visit Morning Market where you can find all ingredients for local food. Return to your hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, we visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. Continue our city tour with the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai.
In the afternoon, we also enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city's oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represent the classical architecture of Luang Prabang temple, we then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore Street Night Bazaar, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 7: Luang Prabang - Kuangsi Waterfall (B)After breakfast, take a drive (30 km South) to visit Kuangsi Waterfall, which, though not very high, is spectacular and really beautiful with its green surroundings as the preserved National park. We stop en-route, stop to visit a fresh produced market namely Talad Phosi, and also visit Ban Na Oune, a small village of a hill-tribe group “Hmong”, probably the best-known minority group in Laos. Just before arriving at Kuangsi waterfall, there is another village of Khmu minority group, namely Ban Tha Pane that we will visit. Afternoon is free at leisure! Overnight in Luang Prabang.
After breakfast, we travel for 32km by car to Pak Ou cave and along the way stop to visit the whisky village and discover how the villagers make Lau Lao (potent rice whisky) then continue to the cave where a thousand Buddha figures are kept. After the visits, we leave from Pak Ou to Nhong Kiaw. This route will take three hours by car with the beautiful mountain view. Upon arrival to Nhong Kiaw, check in your resort and be free at leisure.
Day 9: Nong Kiaw - Boat trip to Muong Ngoi (B)
In the morning, take a boat trip along Nam Ou River, the homeland of river weed that you might eat in your breakfast. You will see how local people collect river weed along the river. Water of the river has beautifully green color. Also here and there, hundreds of water buffalos and pigs relaxing on cool sand of river banks. Return to Nong Kiau at noon time and be free at leisure at your riverside Resort.
Day 10: Nong Kiaw - Luang Prabang - Hanoi (B)Be free at leisure in Nong Kiaw until check out time. Meet your driver and travel back to Luang Praang for your flight back to Hanoi. Upon arrival, meet your driver and check in your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 11: Hanoi - Departure (B)
You will be free today in Hanoi until meeting your driver to proceed to the airport for your departure flight.

Day 11: Hanoi - Danang - Beach Extension (B)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for a short flight to Danang. Upon arrival, meet your driver and check in your beach resort. Overnight in Danang.
