Your Itinerary In Detail

Day 1 & 2

Day 1: Arrival in Bergen

Arrival in Bergen, the second-largest city in Norway and the only city in the world to be surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords.

Bergen is named "The Gateway to the Fjords", because of its proximity to the Norwegian fjords.

Transfer from Bergen airport to your hotel at your own expense.

On this first day, be sure to visit the picturesque Bryggen district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the fish market where you will find excellent smoked salmon. Bergen is definitely the ideal starting point for exploring the region.

Overnight at the hotel in Bergen on a bed & breakfast board basis.

Day 2: Bergen - Fjord Cruise to Mostraumen (3 Hours)

After breakfast, set out to explore Bergen and its surroundings. You will enjoy a 3.5-hour cruise in the Fjords to Mostraumen.

Departure: 10:00 am Zachariasbryggen by the Fish Market

Arrival: 1:30 pm Zachariasbryggen

For this second day, we also recommend you take the Fløyen funicular for a clear view of the city, and then walk on the surrounding hiking trails, between small lakes and forests.

Then head back down to Old Bergen, an open-air folk museum with over 40 wooden buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. Stalls of a baker, barber, dentist and photographer will give you a revealing picture of daily life in those days.

Overnight at the hotel in Bergen on a bed & breakfast board basis.

Day 3, 4 & 5

Day 3: Fjordline Ferry from Bergen to Stavanger

Throughout the crossing, you will be able to admire the beauty of the coast.

Stavanger, Norway's fourth largest city, has a beautiful collection of gabled houses, cobblestone streets, winding alleys and bustling markets. One of the highlights of Stavanger is its old town (Gamle Stavanger), with its well-preserved whitewashed wooden houses from the early 18th century.

From the Stavanger pier to the hotel, you will need to take a bus to the bus station. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. It is then a 6-minute walk from the bus station to your hotel.

Ferry from Bergen to Stavanger: 6 hours (departure from Bergen ferry terminal scheduled at 1:30 pm with maximum check-in at 12:30 pm - Please note: check-in closes 20 minutes before departure). The ship arrives at Stavanger port at 7:00 pm. Kiosks and restaurants are available on board - no meals included.

Overnight at the hotel in Stavanger on a bed & breakfast board basis.

Day 4: Fjord Cruise from Stavanger to Lysefjorden and Preikestolen 'Pulpit Rock'

Embark on a 3-hour cruise on the Lysefjorden aboard a new electric boat for the pleasure of all.

Discover impressive waterfalls, idyllic islands and beautiful scenery. At Fantahålå (the wanderers' cave) you will see where the "wanderers" once hid from the sheriff.

This tour will take you close to the famous Preikestolen cliff, which overlooks the fjord from a height of 604 meters. The cliff is also known as "Pulpit Rock" and is featured in key scenes in the latest Mission Impossible: Fallout!

Next, you'll continue to the impressive Hengjanefossen waterfall, where the crew brings the boat so close to the falls that you'll be able to have your face sprayed with the fall's water (if the waterfall isn't frozen)! The boats have a deck and a kiosk - no meals included.

The drop-off point for the cruise is only a 9-minute walk from your hotel.

Departure from Strandkaien at 10:00 am and return to Strandkaien at 1:30 pm.

In the afternoon, enjoy your free time to discover the city and its attractions. You can also take advantage of this stay in Stavanger to go to the Preikestolen rock with a 4h hike and admire a breathtaking panorama (not included, by your own means).

Overnight at the hotel in Stavanger on a bed & breakfast board basis.

Day 5: Departure from Bergen back to the UK

Your trip is coming to an end. You will return to the airport by your own means.

Please note: The order of the activities can be changed without affecting the interest of the program.

Your Destinations

Bergen is Norway’s second city and the world’s only city surrounded by seven mountains and seven fjords

Bergen is, with good reason, called the Gateway to the Fjords due to its close proximity to the Norwegian fjords.

This makes the city the perfect starting point for exploring the fjord region.

The cosmopolitan and prosperous city of Stavanger, with its picturesque streets and dynamic cultural life, is located on a peninsula in southwestern Norway. Stavanger benefits from the warm current of the Gulf Stream. Therefore, the climate here is particularly mild and you can spend a pleasant summer here. The special advantage of the city is that it is located on a famous fjord, which experts from all over the world call the best-preserved destination in the country. You will find mountains, clean water, long sandy beaches - and last but not least the famous Preikestolen - right on your doorstep.

In Stavanger, you can experience history up close. Visit the beautiful romantic cathedral, the quarters with winding streets and the beautiful fish houses made of white wood. You can also take part in the cultural life here: In Stavanger, you will find numerous stores, lively cafes and restaurants with delicious fish dishes and local products and there are numerous festivals, especially in the summer months.
