The centuries have been kind to the former capital of the Russian Empire – St Petersburg looks as grand today as when Peter the Great laid the foundation stones in 1703. From his cabin on Petrogradskaya Storona, the Russian emperor invited Europe's leading architects to fill the streets with extravagant palaces and elegant Baroque cathedrals. Today, the historic centre is preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage site, along with the grand palaces of the Romanovs at Peterhof, Pushkin and Pavlovsk.
Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival in St Petersburg
Upon arrival in Russia you will be transferred to your hotel where you can check-in. Check-in is usually around 2pm so if you arrive before this time we cannot guarantee that you can check-in straight away.
After breakfast, embark on a panoramic 4hr tour of St Petersburg which will include a guide & vehicle. Enjoy a short walk in the Dostoevsky district, then visit to the Kouznetchny market, the Church of Our Lady of Vladimir and the Fortress Peter and Paul with its cathedral, pantheon of tsars Romanov *
Afterwards visit the exterior of the house of Peter the Great, followed by an exterior view of the cruiser "Aurore". The rest of the day is free.
* The Fortress of Peter and Paul is closed on Wednesday. If you are arriving on Tuesday, the scheduled visits on Day 2 will take place on Day 3
Day 3: Free Day
Today you can explore the city on your own, why not spend the day exploring the gilded interiors of Catherine's Palace?
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.
Our members can also choose to extend their stay by 1-3 nights.

A visa is required for entry into Russia.
You will require a letter of invitation to support your visa application, which will be provided by our local supplier. To obtain the letters of invitation required, you will need to send the following information to the local tour company (details will be provided on your voucher)

Once you have received your letter of invitation, you will need to apply for a visa.
