Your Destination

As the northernmost capital in the world, Reykjavik enjoys a unique atmosphere few other capitals can match. Overlooked to the north by the volcanic range Esja, this picturesque city is the perfect place for a laid-back break or one filled with action!

Laugavegur is the beating heart of the city, a street brimming with bars, restaurants, and boutique shops - stop by one of the cosy cafes to try Icelandic favourites such as rye bread with toppings like herring or trout. If you’re looking to soak up some culture, visit the Reykjavik Art Museum to see modern art by Icelandic artists, or the National Museum of Iceland to dive into the city’s Viking roots. Of course, Reykjavik is also the ideal starting point to discover the wild landscapes of this stunning island - join a tour of the popular Golden Circle, a 230km route taking in Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area and the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall.

The Golden Circle & Fontana Wellness (From 3-Night Stays - between 16th April 2020 - 31st May 2020 ONLY)

Your Included Excursions
This amazing day tour takes you around the Golden Circle to see three of Iceland’s highlights Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Thingvellir National Park, before heading to Fontana’s natural steam baths. The original sauna was built in the 1920s and was little more than a shack with two compartments, built above the hot spring that bubbles and gurgles below the ground. Today, a modern complex welcomes you to relax with various hot tubs and steam baths naturally heated by Icelandic hot springs.

Upon arrival in Fontana you will take a short walk with a local person to a nearby natural hot spring which is used as a local natural bakery for the village. South Shore Adventure (From 4-Night Stays)

Your Included Excursions
This tour is ideal for nature lovers of all kinds. We take you along the south coast of Iceland, one of the country’s most scenic regions, as far as Vík, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs.South Iceland is special for that it is one of the flattest regions on the island. Because of that, most of all grain farming in Iceland is done there. The high mountains to the north, shield the area from the harshest winds from the north.

Among the stops on this tour are at the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljandsá river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it. We recommend you bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to walk behind it. Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls walk over to Þórsmörk. The waterfall was also used in the films Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

We will also stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland but can be dangerous, and we kindly ask our guests not to go too close to the ocean and go by guidelines. Additionally, we will stop by Sólheimajökull and walk up to a small lake which has formed in front of the retreating glacier. Tour duration: 09:00 – 19:30.

Lava Tunnel (From 5-Night Stays)

Your Included Excursions
On this adventure, we will visit the lava tunnel Raufarhólshellir located only 30 minutes from Reykjavík. We will witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption while we walk in the path of a lava that flowed thousands of years ago. The lava tunnel is one of the biggest in Iceland and gets up to 30 metres wide and 10 metres high. The lava tube ceiling has caved in near the entrance, which creates beautiful columns of light. The fantastic range of colours of the tunnel wall is caused by the different mineral types of the rock. This is a tour for the senses. Experience a new world, hear the talk of the cave and sense the forces of nature like you have never done before. Learn new things and step out of your comfort zone. Scenes from the Hollywood movie Noah, with Anthony Hopkins, were shot in this lava cave. You walk around 350 metres into the lava tunnel and the temperature in the cave is around 4 degrees although it can be warmer outside and usually water leaks from the ceiling when it rains and snows so we recommend raincoats.

Tour Highlights
See the inner workings of a volcanic eruption
Walk in the path of lava that flowed thousands of years ago
Step into scenes from a Hollywood film

What’s Included & Need to Know

1 hour guided cave tour

Giljaböð - Húsafell Canyon Baths
Escape the ordinary on an enchanting wilderness and waterfall walk through the Icelandic Highlands to a hidden hot spring framed by a magnificent volcanic canyon. Located on the edge of the Icelandic highlands in West Iceland, Húsafell Canyon Baths offer a completely natural and authentic bathing experience in extraordinary surroundings. These natural baths in the wildest of settings come with brand-new walkways and facilities with a rustic feel. Choose from three geothermal pools of varying temperatures, each with a spectacular view of the surrounding canyon, mountains, and glaciers. The Húsafell locals who undertook the Canyon Baths project went to great lengths to keep the entire structure as environmentally unobtrusive, sustainable and true to the area’s heritage as possible. The on-site bathhouse is made from salvaged timbers from the area. Even the hooks in the changing room are re-purposed horseshoes from a nearby family farm.

On this tour, we enjoy a peaceful walk around rare nature sites not found in any guidebooks including the spectacular two-tiered Langifoss waterfall. The highlight of our excursion is a heavenly dip in the new Húsafell Canyon Baths, a surreal hot spring paradise that has to be seen to be believed.
