Please Note: The following itinerary is based on a 4-night stay. When opting to book a 6-night stay, guests will enjoy an additional day of leisure in Bergen on day 3 and a day of leisure in Stavanger on day 6. This information can be seen above in 'your itineraries in brief'.

Day 1: Arrival in Bergen
Upon arrival in Bergen, Norway's UNESCO city of gastronomy, enjoy a shared airport transfer from Bergen Airport to the Bergen Bus Terminal, before making your way to the Hotel Zander K 4* or similar for an overnight stay. Bergen is the second largest city in Norway and the only city in the world surrounded by seven mountains and seven fjords. Places of interest include the Hanseatic Bryggen harbour, the Fløibanen funicular, the fish market, the Troldhaugen museum, the Bergen aquarium, and Gamle Bergen (old Bergen open-air museum).

Top Suggestions: We recommend purchasing the 'Bergen Card' whilst in the city, allowing you free or discounted admission to many museums and attractions, as well as cultural events, sightseeing tours, restaurants and parking.

Day 2: Bergen - 3-hour Fjord Cruise to Mostraumen (details seen below in excursions)
Learn what makes Bergen a unique and captivating city, and discover why Bergen is called a European City of Culture, the Gateway to the Fjords of Norway and a World Heritage City. Then, embark on a a 3-hour cruise to Osterfjord and the picturesque Mostraumen, setting off from Zachariasbryggen, right next to the well-known Fish Market in Bergen. On the way from Bergen you can enjoy a good view of the famous Bryggen, helping you to seek out the city's best sights in record time! Spend the rest of the day at leisure, and enjoy an overnight stay at the Hotel Zander K 4* or similar.
Day 3: Coastal Ferry Cruise from Bergen to Stavanger
After breakfast, enjoy a private transfer from your Bergen Hotel to the Port, before embarking on a 6-hour Coastal Ferry Cruise from Bergen to Stavanger. On this adventure, beautiful mountains and deep fjords make for an unbeatable combination. You'll spend your travels aboard an eco-friendly Fjord Line ship, sailing through exceptionally beautiful natural landscapes. Fall for a truly bewitching backdrop as you make your way to beautiful Haugalandet, whilst enjoying tasty onboard treats and recharging your batteries before arriving at the historic and dynamic city of Stavanger. Upon arrival, you'll take a shared bus transfer from the Port to Stavanger City Terminal before spending the night at the Clarion Hotel Stavanger 4* or similar.
Day 4: Stavanger - 3-hour Fjord Cruise to Lysefjorden and Preikestolen (details seen below in excursions)
Stavanger, the fourth largest city in Norway, boasts an excellent collection of terraced houses, cobblestone streets, winding alleys, and colourful markets. One of the highlights of Stavanger is the old town (Gamle Stavanger), where you'll be met by well-preserved 18th Century architecture. On this day, set out to feast your eyes on the majestic Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), which seems to reach into the sky above the incredible Lysefjord. The Preikestolen was notably shown in the 2018 film 'Mission: Impossible – Fallout', and now is your chance to come up close to it too! Following your cruise, spend the day at leisure and stay overnight at the Clarion Hotel Stavanger 4* or similar.

Day 5: Departure from Stavanger
Following breakfast, enjoy a shared airport bus transfer from the bus terminal to Stavanger Airport where you will board your return flight home.

3-hour Fjord Cruise to Mostraumen on Day 2

Your Included Excursions
Experience fjords and mountains on a 3-hour cruise to Osterfjord and the picturesque Mostraumen where boats are just able to pass through! Deep fjords, steep mountains, mighty waterfalls and powerful currents – all year round! The cruise starts from Zachariasbryggen, right next to the well-known Fish Market in Bergen. On the way from Bergen you will have a good view of the famous Bryggen, the old city of Bergen along with the rest of Bergen`s harbour basin.

The cruise will continue under Nordhordalandsbrua up the 27-kilometer long Osterfjorden in Hordaland province. Innermost in that deep fjord is Modalen, the second smallest municipality in Norway with about 380 residents. Underway, the fjord narrows between the steep mountains as we bring you safely through the strong currents of the shallow and narrow Mostraumen strait. You’ll also see waterfalls that can give your face a really refreshing shower at times of peak water flow! You'll sail the bow right up to a waterfall to catch a bucket of ice-cold mountain water for you to sample before turning back in Modalen to retrace your route through the magnificent landscape.

Please Note: The boat is a modern catamaran with a big sun deck. There is disabled access on the boat, and you can bring a stroller. A kiosk on board sells beverages, snacks and small dishes. Audio guiding is available in several languages. Departure: from Zachariasbryggen quay at the Fish Market. Returning to the same place. Duration: 3 hours.

3-hour Fjord Cruise to Lysefjorden and Preikestolen on Day 4 (or Day 5 with 6-Night Stay)

We also take you to Vagabond’s Cave and tell you the legend of this mysterious opening in the mountain. We carefully nudge the boat’s bow up the Hengjane Falls and offer you a taste of pure mountain water. Enjoy the striking scenery from the comfort of our boat’s sheltered cabin, with panoramic windows all around, or venture out on the spacious sundeck. The kiosk onboard offers a variety of refreshments, including beer and wine.

Duration - Three-hour round trip.
Departure point - From Strandkaien, Vågen in Stavanger. When booking at rodne.no, Forsand kai can also be selected for departure. Please use the map below to see exact departure point.
Season - All year! Every season has its charm. Warm, comfortable seating in a cabin with big windows, or out on deck, rain or shine.

You must ensure you have a valid passport to travel on. 

If your passport describes you as a British Citizen, you do not need a visa to enter Norway. For non-British citizens, you should check the current entry requirements on the website of the Foreign Ministry and if necessary, confirm with the Norwegian Embassy. 


Health

If vaccinations or other preventive measures are required, you will need to visit your health professional at least 8 weeks before your trip. In the event that you are referred to a medical facility for treatment, you should contact your insurance/medical assistance company immediately.

Brexit 

If you are travelling to the EU, the UK government recommends that you have six months left on your passport on the date of your arrival to an EU country. You should also check when your passport was renewed.


If you renewed a 10-year adult passport before it expired, extra months may have been added to your passport’s expiry date. These extra months over 10 years will not count towards the 6 months that must be remaining. Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the UK Government is currently requesting that all travellers returning to the UK, (with exceptions), must provide their journey and contact details up to 48 hours before arrival, and self-isolate at home for 14 days. These restrictions will be reviewed every three weeks. The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) currently advises British nationals against all but essential international travel, and this advice is also being kept under constant review.
