During the boat trip, you will be served a refreshing coconut drink, before being transferred to Sigiriya.
Visit the iconic Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and admire ancient paintings depicting Buddha and various scenes from his life.

Day 3: Sigiriya
Enjoy breakfast before setting off for the day. Sigiriya (or Lion's Rock) is a large rock fortress and a major archaeological site in Sri Lanka.
A popular tourist destination, it is also renowned for its ancient paintings (frescoes), reminiscent of the Ajanta caves in India. It is one of Sri Lanka's seven World Heritage Sites and has also been the 8th Wonder of the World by UNESCO. Enjoy an open-air lunch at Sigiriya with a superb view of the rock fortress of Sigiriya.
- Please note: Should you wish to climb to the top, it will take approximately 2 to 3 hours. You can enjoy an included lunch in Sigiriya as mentioned above or reserve it for Day 5 in Kandy. The choice is yours.
- Night in Habarana
Day 4
Visit the Ayurvedic Village of Matale. Also known as Taprobane, this place was world-famous for its quality spices.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kandy. A bicycle excursion, an outing on a traditional catamaran (a small wooden boat) on a water reservoir and a visit to a village are on the itinerary.
Bring the day to a close with a stop in an authentic local house, where you can enjoy a truly Sri Lankan meal.

- Please note: Spices are also available for sale on the site, but there is no obligation to purchase them.
Day 5: Kandy
After breakfast at the hotel, head to the ornate Temple of the Tooth - a monumental architectural legacy not only of Kandy but of the whole of Sri Lanka.
Then go on a city tour of Kandy by tuk-tuk followed by a tour on foot. Nestled among lush green hills, intersected by the Mahaweli River and with the magnificent Kandy Lake as its focal point, Kandy is certainly the island's most picturesque and most visited city. It still retains much of its charm and traditions of yesteryear, with handicrafts and the typical Sri Lankan way of life.
- Visit batik and wood carving centre
- Kandy Cultural show in the evening
- Night in Kandy
Please note:
- When visiting the Temple of the Tooth, we recommend wearing modest, long clothes that cover shoulders and knees.
- You can buy flowers along the way to the temple.
- Shoes must be removed at the temple entrance.
- Secure storage facilities are available.
- Cameras are welcome.
Please note:
- The City tour of Kandy by tuk-tuk will take approximately 1-2 hours (the tuk-tuk ride will be a short visit, limited to 20-30 minutes of the total city tour time).
- If you were unable to have your authentic lunch in Sigiriya, you can opt to enjoy lunch in Kandy with a refreshing glass of beer. (This lunch is included only if you did not opt for lunch in Sigiriya on Day 3 of your tour).
Day 6
After breakfast, it's time to leave the hotel for Nuwara-Eliya. Go on a train journey from Kandy - Nanu Oya; Travelling by train in Sri Lanka is a unique experience, and the railway stretches through picturesque hills and magical, unspoilt landscapes.
The train still follows the legendary route built in the 19th century. Whichever route you choose, you're guaranteed an unforgettable journey.
Then pay a visit to a tea plantation and a tea factory with a tea-picking experience: Sri Lanka is home to the world's best tea, the world-famous Ceylon tea. With its rich, fine flavour and brilliant golden colour, it is unrivalled in terms of quality.
- Night in Nuwara-Eliya
Good to know:
- Be aware that the train journey is made using a simple local train. This is less comfortable than what you are used to (duration: around 3 hours).
- The day of the train journey and/or its itinerary may be changed. This is the case when a train is expected to be full and/or late.
- Tea picking is not available on public holidays. If you wish to experience tea picking, you will need to give a small tip to the tea pickers.
Day 7: Nuwara-Eliya - Yala
Transfer to Tissamaharama (Yala) then prepare for the jeep safari to Yala. Be at the National Park entrance by 2:30 pm. The safari will last approximately 3 hours.
The second largest national park in Sri Lanka, Yala is located in the southeastern part of the island, in a region with a dry, semi-arid climate, bordering the Indian Ocean. The density of leopards here is one of the highest in the world, but there are also elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, monkeys and peacocks.
- Night in Yala
Day 8: Yala - Galle - Departure
