Your Itinerary —
Black Sea Adventure - 8th October
Greece - Turkey - Georgia - Russia - Romania - Bulgaria - Turkey
The birthplace of civilisation, Athens – with its marbled legacy of temples and agoras, is at the forefront of this voyage of exciting discoveries. Tales from Greek mythology, magnificent palaces of the Russian aristocracy, epic battles throughout history and the more recent Cold War. Step ashore in cities around the Black Sea that for seventy years were hidden behind the Iron Curtain. Finally Istanbul where Europe meets Asia and East blends with West!
Eastern Mediterranean and Red Sea - 22nd October
Turkey - Cyprus - Egypt - Jordan - Egypt
From Biblical sites to Bedouin camps, Roman remains to Crusader Castles, priceless Egyptian artefacts to opulent Ottoman palaces, this Voyage of Discovery turns the pages on thousands of years of history around the Eastern Mediterranean and Red Sea. Battles, epic journeys and the rise and fall of great civilisations and religions are all played out against a stunning backdrop of mountains, desert and sea.
Gems of the Red and Arabian Seas - 3rd November
Egypt - Djibouti - Oman - UAE
Since ancient times smugglers, merchants, pirates and pilgrims crossed the northern end of the Great Rift Valley – a vast crack in the earth where Africa and Asia are slowly drifting apart! Follow in their wake seeing how throughout the centuries events have shaped the identity of different cultures along the Red Sea shores. Set foot in the land of the ancient Egyptians, a former French colony on the Horn of East Africa, and Oman – a country whose history goes back to the dawn of civilisation. Though both are rich in tradition, contrasting Fujairah and Dubai illustrate each of the seven emirates is unique.
Atlantic Voyager - 20th February 2015
Canary islands - Madeira - Portugal - Spain - Portsmouth
Approaching the ‘Gods’, Mount Teide’s soaring snow-dusted crater raises the curtain on this voyage of exciting discoveries. Second act is fiery Santa Cruz de la Palma and then Madeira – the floating garden of the Atlantic. Lisbon is Portugal’s own ‘City of Discoveries’, the atmospheric Alfama district evoking a subtle melancholy charm. All roads in Spain once led to the tomb of St James. The great city of Santiago de Compostela is the final act before Voyager sails from Spain’s Crystal City to British shores where the final curtain comes down.
