Your Destination —
The way to this 5* hotel on Elbchaussee in Hamburg is similar to a sightseeing tour. Aristocratic-looking villas and properties line Hamburg’s prosperous boulevard. The unspoiled view of the Elbe from Hotel Jacob in Nienstedten is sensational, especially from the famous Lime Tree Terrace.
Set only a stone’s throw away from Nienstedten to the lively, hip neighbourhood of Ottensen. Areas like Altona, St. Pauli, Finkenwerder or the city centre are also quick to reach. In just seven minutes, the ferries at Teufelsbrück will take you across the Elbe to the Airbus plant’s jetty. The aerospace plant in Finkenwerder on the other side of the Elbe is never out of sight. As long as a gigantic cruise ship passing by doesn’t block the view…

Had a good night’s sleep? A sumptuous breakfast awaits you after a well-rested night. To get your day going, breakfast is served on the Lime Tree Terrace or in the restaurant.
The new Jacob’s Restaurant. Thomas Martin and his team will continue to interpret original French haute cuisine in their own inimitable way. The menu will be based on superior, regionally sourced products, prepared with precision and contemporary techniques. The main product is the star, with appetising sauces to accompany it. The result is a dish bursting with taste.
Wine Bar. The charming wine bar Kleines Jacob is a laid-back, blissful and convivial place to order snacks or something larger and savour select wines at rustic wooden tables. All you have to do is cross the street. Around the open-plan kitchen and a large stone oven, warm lighting and a superbly cosy atmosphere invite guests to linger. Young, up-and-coming winegrowers from German-speaking wine regions have found their niche here in Hamburg. Every three months, wining and dining adopts a new regional focus.
The famous Lime Tree Terrace was created back in 1791 by Daniel Louis Jacques. Today it’s considered one of Hamburg’s most attractive locations and cafés. Partake in breakfast under the shade of the lime trees, or grab a front row seat and observe the comings and goings on Hamburg’s river Elbe over coffee and cake. Watching ships glide by on the Elbe is of course a romantic prospect on a balmy summer evening too when lights dance on the Elbe’s dark waters.
The Bar. Fancy another drink at the bar? The Jacob’s bar is a Hamburg institution. It’s a place for good conversation in a convivial atmosphere that’s relaxed and informal yet appealing. This is the ideal backdrop for bringing the day to a close. With unusual rare wines from the hotel’s own wine cellar in Hamburg. Or with fine champagne or sherry specialities. During a traditional high tea, superbly soft leather armchairs entice visitors to the bar. And in the evening sophisticated cocktails are served shaken or stirred.
