Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi a welcome dinner in a local restaurant and
After a long flight, you will arrive at our nearly thousand-year-old capital – Hanoi. Our guide will meet you at Noi Bai Airport and transfer you to the hotel in the city centre.

Known worldwide as a city of lakes, shaded boulevards and verdant public parks, Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, offers a variety of elements to all who visit. The city is a perfect blend of the exotic chic of old Asia and the dynamic face of new Asia, of Parisian grace and Asian pace. Hanoi is where imagination becomes reality.
You will visit a complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh – the nation’s founder, containing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (viewed from outside on Mondays, Fridays and afternoons as closed), and house on stilts. as well as the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam before having lunch in a local restaurant.
After lunch in a local restaurant, your afternoon tour will continue to the Museum of Ethnology. You can also hop in a cyclo (rickshaws) and visit the Old Quarter streets, on route to Ngoc Son Temple.

After breakfast, you will leave Hanoi for Mai Chau. Journey through beautiful mountainous provinces and see gorgeous scenery dotted with rice paddies, while passing several small villages of Muong, Thai, H’Mong, and Dao people. A tasty lunch will be waiting for you when you arrive at your next destination.
After lunch and a short rest, go for a bike ride through the villages. You will have the chance to head into the rice fields, visit local families and learn more about the fascinating and vibrant Vietnamese culture. - The most beautiful seasons to admire the rice fields are August, September, October.
Note: You can hike instead of cycling if you prefer.

Day 4: Mai Chau Valley – Mai Hich – Ninh Binh “Ha Long Bay on Land”
Wake up early for sunrise then return to your hotel for a delicious breakfast. Today, you will head to the peaceful and scenic village of Mai Hich.
The village is nestled in lush green landscapes, with a mountain and springs surrounding it. For those travelling throughout the months of March, May, June, September, August, October, you will see lush green rice fields and for early August and early December, you will see blooming crops!
Winter is when the water buffalos come to the rice fields.
Mai Hich Village is a rarely-touched place by tourists. Enjoy being able to walk around, meeting many locals and why not call into the local village school or take off on a scenic bicycle ride to the Xia Spring.
After having lunch in the local village, head to Ninh Binh, where you will check in to your next hotel.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then be transferred to this iconic nature reserve.
Arrive at the Trang An pier and be prepared to take a flat-bottomed rowboat, which will take you out onto the water for a discovery tour of two hours. You'll pass through caves with weird names: Tối (dark), Sáng (bright), Nấu Rượu (alcohol distillation), Ba Giọt (three caves), and see lots of wonderful sights.
There are around 48 discovered caves in Trang An which all provide a unique ecosystem, hosting several dozen endemic species of fauna and flora.
Please Note: During Vietnamese New Year (January, February, or March), the above program will be replaced with a visit to the Van Long Nature Reserve as below:
Van Long Nature Reserve is a completely natural and authentic landscape which located 20km north of Ninh Binh city centre. Here, our members will take a rowing boat tour to discover this Biological Preservation Area - as it is known - and what you will discover is an exceptional natural site. This is also a two-hour trip.
For all tours, lunch will be provided at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, once each of the tours have finished, you will then take a bike ride to Bich Dong Pagoda – here, you will see the typical rural landscape of the Red River Delta.

After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of your hotel (07:30 am) and will head for the acclaimed UNESCO World Natural Heritage, Ha Long Bay.
Soak up the abundance of outstanding natural beauty, where thousands of spectacular limestone islets and grottoes rise up from the clear emerald Gulf of Tonkin.
Upon arrival, transfer to a junk boat and be met with a welcome drink, where you will then head off on a cruise around Ha Long Bay. This excursion is inclusive of a delicious local seafood lunch served on board.
Passing many rocks and islets, our members will see caves as well as floating villages and will be able to take a short swimming stop too! Your dinner will be ready for when the boat anchors, in a quiet designated overnight area.

In the morning, brunch will be served while cruising to Bai Tu Long Bay. Pass by several rocks, islets and fishing villages, whilst moving toward Ha Long City for disembarkment later in the morning. Return to Hanoi by private car and be transferred to the airport for a flight to Hue. Upon landing, you’ll be greeted by your driver and will then proceed to check in your hotel.
Have breakfast, visit the tile-roofed Bridge Thanh Toan, a local market and the surroundings of this authentic village. Continue to visit the Imperial Citadel (World Cultural Heritage) including Hat Tower, Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, continue your tour by boat on the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue's oldest and most beautiful pagoda. It is thought to be the symbol or religion and spirit of Hue people. After the visit, the car will pick you up from there, and take you to the tomb of King Minh Mang.

After breakfast, you will proceed along one of Vietnam most scenic highways to Hoi An (4hr). When crossing the Hai Van pass, you will have a chance to contemplate a superb panorama of the central coastline and the beach of Lang Co – one of the most beautiful beaches of Vietnam.
On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Have lunch on your own then have free time to relax. You will head out to explore the tiny town later

You will be free today until check out time where you will then meet your driver
(no guide) for travelling to the airport. On this day you can either fly back to the UK or fly to Ho Chi Minh City for the extension.

Extension —
On day 11, our members will either depart or continue their trip onto the Southern parts of Vietnam
Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta/Ben Tre
After breakfast, check-out then depart from your hotel at 8am. You will head on a pleasant drive to Ben Tre province, crossing Rach Mieu Bridge, towards the Hung Vuong Pier.
Take a boat on to the Ben Tre River – one of the tributaries of Mekong River. The first stop is at brick kiln, to see how to make bricks traditionally by printing and baking. You will then visit a coconut processing workshop, located along the canal before travelling through creeks towards a village.
This day trip will also see you take a tuk-tuk or bicycle through rice fields and vegetable plains, where you will then have lunch at a local riverside restaurant.
The final activity of this laid-back day will be a rowing-boat excursion along a beautiful water palm creek. Head back towards the pier and you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Discover one of South-East Asia's megacities and head to Ho Chi Minh City, the economic heart of Vietnam in the south of the country. Experience this city where immense skyscrapers and small rustic street stalls coexist to create a unique and fascinating place. As in many Asian cities, tradition and modernity blend together and create an exotic and vibrant escape full of street food vendors and many, many, mopeds.
After breakfast, check-out then depart from your hotel at 08.00, it takes only 2 hours pleasant drive to Ben Tre province crossing Rach Mieu Bridge. On arrival in Hung Vuong Pier, hop on a motorized boat on Ben Tre River – one of tributaries of Mekong River while sight-seeing lively activities along river as fishing, water transferring. Our first stop is at brick kiln to see how to make bricks traditionally by printing and baking. Continue to visit one of plenty of coconut processing workshops located along canal. Return to the boat and go through natural scissors creeks to a village and see some local houses making sleeping mats and enjoying some fruits. Take a motorized cart (tuk tuk) or bicycle on shady paths, pass by green rice fields and vegetable plains to be able to touch on real life and find out about tropical culture from peasants. Have lunch at local a riverside restaurant.
After lunch, we take a rowing-boat along beautiful water palm creek before meeting up the motorized boat and transfer you back to the pier. Our car will be picked you up there and drive back to hotel.
