Day 1: Arrival in Saigon

Day 1: Arrival in Saigon

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, your driver will meet you and drive you to your hotel in the city centre (Note: the check-in time is from 14:00). Free at leisure and overnight in Saigon.

Day 2-3: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Hoi An

Day 2: Saigon – Mekong Delta/Vinh Long – Saigon (Breakfast/Lunch)

Breakfast at your hotel. After that, take the road to Vinh Long and visit the Vinh Long Market in town. This is the best photo opportunities of fish, shrimp, shrimp, crabs, snakes, rice field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables... Continue the trip by a boat cruise to visit the local workshops where you will see how to make rice leaves, coconut candies and rice popcorn.

 

Continue to boat trip along the Mekong River and observe many floating cages for fish farming. Then we pass the My An canal to see many brick kilns on both sides and return to the Hòa Tịnh canal. We will walk in the peaceful village to see how they make bricks, trays and bamboo baskets... You will also learn how they make conical hats by hand. Enjoy lunch, then take the boat to Cai Be and then a rowing boat ride on the Ba Nam Canal at Tan Phong Island. Return to your hotel in Saigon in the late-afternoon. Overnight in Saigon.

 

Day 3: Saigon visits – Fly to Da Nang – Hoi An (Breakfast/Lunch)

Breakfast at your hotel and check-out. Afterwards, visit the central post office, a remnant of the French colonial era and perhaps the largest post office in Southeast Asia. Located next to the Notre-Dame Saigon Cathedral, these two cultural sites can be visited together and offer visitors the opportunity to imagine life in Vietnam at the time of the Indochinese Empire.

 

Continue your trip to the Reunification Palace, former residence of the Governor General of Indochina then President of the Republic of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue your visit to a local food market, a flower market, a place of residence to observe local life. The last stop of the day is the unforgettable Jade Emperor pagoda. The pagoda is filled with smoky incense and fantastic carved figurines. It was built by the Cantonese community at the end of the 20th century and continues to buzz with the faithful. Transfer to airport for the flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An

Day 4-7: Hoi An - Hue - Hanoi

Day 4: Hoi An – Rural village life (Breakfast/Lunch)

After breakfast, your guide & driver will pick you up at your hotel.
Today, we offer you a glimpse of the country life in the suburbs of Hoi An's old town. Such an incredible experience of sailing along a peaceful river to Cam Thanh Coconut Water village. You will observe the way that the local fishermen do the round net fishing. This is a good opportunity to learn fishing with locals, with practical and fun experience.

 

Then we continue with the discovery of the rice culture. Visit a local family to learn about various farming tools and how to prepare white rice in the traditional way with old hand tools. You will join a small Bánh Xèo cooking class with your host. Lunch with the village specialities. Join us, meet friendly people and enjoy interesting experiences.

 

In the afternoon, discover Hoi An, the city that was home to Annam's main trading port during the 17th and 18th centuries, nowadays classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site by hiking around the city and its wonderful harbor. Follow the narrow streets lined with Chinese, Japanese, French and European architecture and visit the many sights: the 400-year-old Japanese Bridge, the Phuc Kien Meeting Room, the local fish market ... Around the city you will be able to see the art galleries and the tailors' shops and why not make tailor-made clothes.

 

You will continue then by visiting the house of a craftsman in the old districts. Here you will have a brief introduction to the history, the origin of the shape and colours of the lanterns, as well as the many stages of realization. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 5: Hoi An – Hue (Breakfast/Lunch)

After breakfast, check-out and your guide will pick you up for a car trip to Hue through Hai Van Pass, which offers at its summit a breath-taking panorama of the central coastline and Lang Co Beach – one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam. You arrive in Hue after 03 hours’ drive. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel (World Cultural Heritage) including Hat Tower, Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace… Overnight in Hue.

 

Day 6: Hue – Village explore by boat and bike (Breakfast/Lunch)

 

Situated on the right bank of Perfume River, around 7km from Hue center, Thuy Bieu attracts tourists to old nice village with unique and special features on architecture and culture, peaceful garden houses and seasonal fruits. Breakfast at your hotel. Our dragon boat will pick up group at Toa Kham wharf, start cruising on Perfume River. Stop for a visit to typical Thien Mu Pagoda which is a historic temple and the symbol of Hue romantic city.

 

Back to the boat for a scenic cruise to Hue Ecolodge where our local guide are ready to wait and welcome you to visit Thuy Bieu Eco-village, an authentically village representing the country side of Hue with the clear notion "garden -home". Depart to Thuy Bieu local market with our local guide, take time to stroll around & buy the necessary ingredients for cooking class - Prepare meal for yourself under the instruction of our chef.

 

Learn to cook 3 dishes:
Vả fruit mixed shrimp and pork; Banh Ram It (a patty of super-crunchy deep-fried stick rice topped with stir-fried shrimp and pork) and Banh Khoái (a pan-fried crepe that is typically stuffed with shrimp and pork belly).

After your practical class, it’s time to taste the Hue traditional dishes that you have prepared and our chef will be able to give his feedback on your own chef skills. Note: The market is open till 11 a.m.

Day 7: Hue – Hanoi visits (Breakfast)

After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport for the flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, your driver will pick you up and drive you to your hotel. On the way, visit the Ethnology Museum (this visit will be replaced by the History Museum on Mondays due to closure), a valuable centre for the exhibition and conservation of cultural achievements of 54 ethnic groups present in Vietnam giving an excellent overview of the cultural richness of Vietnam. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 8-11: Hanoi - Ha Long Bay - Hanoi

Day 8: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

After breakfast, you will depart by road to Ha Long Bay, a world heritage site of outstanding natural beauty. Travel through the rich agricultural lands of the Red River Delta and rice paddy landscapes, daily life of Vietnamese villages. You arrive at Ha Long Bay after 2,5 hours’ drive. Check-in and lunch on board. The cruise goes through many rocks and islets in various forms, and make several stops to visit surprising caves. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 9: Ha Long (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Why don’t you wake up early for Tai Chi class which happens on the terrace (6.30). A good morning activity to feel in harmony with this wonder of nature. After that, have a light breakfast and you will set up on a day boat to cruise in Lan Ha Bay passing floating villages, islands and islets. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, continue cruising and then return to the main boat to spend the second night on board.

 

Day 10: Ha Long – Hanoi (Breakfast or Brunch)

In the morning, continue the cruise to discover the beauties of the bay before returning to dock. The junk heads towards the port of Ha Long. The light lunch aboard the junk in the form of a brunch will close this magnificent cruise. All the crew will come to greet you and thank you when you disembark at the port at about 11 am, where the driver is waiting for you for a car drive back to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi, check-in your hotel and be free for rest of the day. Overnight in Hanoi.

 

Day 11: Hanoi - Departure (Breakfast)

After breakfast, free on your own until transfer to airport in a good time to connect to your departure flight.

 

Note: Hotel check-out time is 12.00. Late check-out is not included and subject to hotel availability at an additional charge. If time permits, transfer to SF Spa for a relaxing 60-minute-body massage/person/stay (Child under 16 years old is not allowed).

Day 11: Hanoi – Unforgettable moment in an authentic village – Ninh Binh (Breakfast/Lunch)

After breakfast, check-out and take the road to Ha Nam province which located about 70km from Hanoi. Arriving at the village after about 1h30 of car ride, you first visit a local market and then the village which is famous for making rice noodle and noodles. This village has yet to be known by mass tourism, so there are only you with local people. It will give you the opportunity to participate in the work with locals, see their rural life and chat with them to understand how they live and earn for their living.

 

Light lunch at your host house with the product of the village.
In the afternoon, continue the road to Ninh Binh. Upon arrival after about 1h30 of car ride, check-in then take a bike ride around the local villages to see the life of the locals. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

 

Day 12: Ninh Binh visits (Breakfast/Lunch)

After breakfast, take a bamboo boat for an unforgettable 2 hours boat trip in a beautiful and enchanting natural landscape. You will pass through the 03 caves of Tam Coc which pierce the mountains ... a show both sublime and relaxing! You then visit the Bich Dong Pagoda.
Lunch in a local restaurant.

 

In the afternoon, transfer to visit Phat Diem Cathedral which located 28km from Ninh Binh city on an area of about 22 ha, and in the village of Phat Diem. It was built in 1891 by a Vietnamese priest, Mr. Pierre Tran Luc, better known as Father Six. This cathedral is peculiar for the architecture of pagodas and communal houses tonkinois. The architectural ensemble of the cathedral includes a large church, five small churches, campanile Phuong Dinh – masterpiece of this architectural ensemble, pond and three artificial rock caves. Return to your hotel. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

 

Day 13: Ninh Binh – Hanoi visits (Breakfast/Lunch)

After breakfast, check-out and return to Hanoi. Stop on the way to visit Long Bien Market which is installed under the eponymous bridge and is the most fascinating market in the city. This market is ranked by the US magazine Condé Nast Traveler in its list of the 7 most attractive markets in the world. And then Long Bien Bridge, formerly called Paul Doumer Bridge, is a famous bridge in northern Vietnam to cross the Red River. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature (Vietnam’s First University), Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hoan Kiem Lake and then a 45-minute cyclo ride around the Old quarters. Overnight in Hanoi.

 

Day 14: Hanoi - Departure

After breakfast, free on your own until transfer to airport in a good time to connect to your departure flight.
