Your Itinerary in Detail —
Day 1-4
Day 1: You will arrive in San Francisco for your first stop. Upon arrival, with your rental car, drive to your first hotel for check-in.
Day 2-3: Discover San Francisco at your own pace and don't miss its major attractions: walk through the authentic Fisherman's Wharf district and go to Alcatraz, a small island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay once used as a prison, lighthouse and military fortification. Visit Golden Gate Park and discover its various flowery spaces. In the evening, dine in one of San Francisco's many neighbourhoods: from Chinatown to the very Italian North Beach, each offers its own culture and cuisine.
Day 4: Leave San Francisco early in the morning and head to Manteca via Monterey. A craft town, established in 1770 as one of the first European outposts on the west coast, it still contains many buildings from the American colonial era. Head to Cannery Row, the historic sardine district made famous by author John Steinbeck and still a fun place to explore. Monterey Bay is also a great place for whale watching and excursions are available locally.
Day 5-8
Day 5: Get back on the road to head towards Yosemite National Park. Yosemite's striking beauty is due in part to the contrast between the flat ground and the nearly vertical granite walls. Granite cliffs, including the El Capitan monolith, Glacier Point and Half Dome, rise up and are overlooked by significant waterfalls. In addition to the valley, Yosemite includes a vast expanse of high mountains made up of peaks, rivers, meadows, and giant redwoods. Trails will allow you to walk in the valley to admire the waterfalls, and visit Mirror Lake/Meadow in the East Valley and the famous Tunnel View.
Day 6: Before arriving in Death Valley, stop in Pahrump to buy a picnic that you can eat on the way to Stovepipe Wells. Admire the landscape of Zabriskie Point, made up of sediment from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up 5 million years ago. Visit Death Valley National Park and its raw, barren land as if sculpted by the elements.
Day 7: Continue your roadtrip to Las Vegas to enjoy a unique atmosphere: extravagant shows, casino excitement, the action never stops from morning to night. Stroll down Las Vegas Boulevard, also known as "The Strip." Visit the city's finest hotels, including Caesars Palace, The Venetian and Paris, watch fountain shows and sample international cuisine from America's top chefs.
Day 8: The Bryce Canyon National Park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. These features, which are the centrepiece of the park’s attractions, often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun’s rays. Continue to Bryce Canyon, which is distinctive due to geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost whethering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. The red, orange and white colours of the rocks provide spectacular views for park visitors.
Day 9-13
Day 9: The town of Page is perched atop Manson Mesa, at an elevation of 1,300 meters above sea level and 180 meters above Lake Powell.
Along the way, don't miss Glen Canyon Dam and Horseshoe Bend, a horseshoe-shaped meander dug by the Colorado River whose emerald-coloured water and ocher-coloured rock offer a marvellous spectacle. Also go to Antelope Canyon, one of the most beautiful sites in the United States: by its shape carved into the walls of polished and sculpted sandstone, this canyon is a unique natural wonder. At certain times of the day, the sun penetrates this fault to flood the place with an enchanting orange light. A show not to be missed during your stay!
Meal included: Breakfast
Day 10: The Navajo Nation is a Native American territory covering approximately 71,000 km², occupying parts of northeastern Arizona, southeastern Utah and northwestern New Mexico in the United States. This is the largest territorial area retained by a Native American tribe, with a population of approximately 350,000 in 2016. Before leaving Tuba, visit the Navajo Museum to understand the history of this territory and its inhabitants.
Then head to Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, home to much of the immense Grand Canyon, with its red rocks revealing millions of years of geological history. Don't miss the most spectacular viewpoints such as Mather Point, Yavapai Observation Station and architect Mary Colter's Lookout Studio and its Desert View tower. Lipan Point, which offers wide views of the canyon and the Colorado River, is also a popular vantage point.
Meal included: Breakfast
Day 11: Calico is a ghost town and former mining town in San Bernardino County, California, United States. Located in the Calico Mountains of the Mojave Desert region of Southern California, it was founded in 1881 as a silver mining town, and has now been transformed into a county park called Calico Ghost Town.
Continue your journey to arrive at the end of the afternoon in the city of angels where you will spend the night.
Day 12: Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the United States. famous for its cinema, its film studios and its famous Hollywood sign, this city is brimming with culture and events. Go for a walk along the Walk of Fame and have fun finding the names of celebrities commemorated by pink stars along the sidewalk. Visit Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the best-preserved movie palace from Hollywood's Golden Age. Known for its hand and footprints of celebrities in the forecourt, there are over 200 impressions to discover. Drive through the Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive neighbourhood famous for its luxury villas and stores.
Drive along Venice Beach, home to famous Muscle Beach, where the sand and surf are secondary to the bustling street performance scene. Visit the Santa Monica Pier, once known as the "finish line" of the legendary Route 66.
Day 13: Your road trip in the US has come to an end... Drive to Los Angeles Airport to catch your return plane.

Your Destination —
San Francisco
If you are going to San Francisco, you don't need to wear flowers in your hair, but you will surely meet some gentle people there and will have so much to see and do, you may consider extending your trip longer!
A magical city bursting with diverse neighbourhoods, grand-dame Victorian houses, cable cars zipping down steep hills and interesting museums. Before heading out to explore, be sure to dress in layers, as the city's weather is very unpredictable - even on the sunniest of the days, a chilly blanket of fog can roll through at any moment!
Make your holiday unforgettable and visit the iconic Pier 39 where you can watch the famous sea lions sun bathe. Walk or catch a ride up to Coit Tower and take in the panoramic views of San Francisco. Stop at the Ghiradelli Square for some chocolates (great souvenir idea). Take a ferry to Alcatraz Island and learn the history of this infamous prison that once held Al Capone and George "Machine Gun" Kelly (we recommend booking your tickets in advance).
Other unmissable places to see are: the crooked Lombard Street, Haight & Ashbury with a stop at 710 Ashbury to see where the Grateful Dead band once lived, the Painted Ladies, the most photographed houses in San Francisco, Dolores Park, a great place to have a picnic to beautiful views of San Francisco's skyline and Chinatown, a busy area of the city that showcases a unique architecture.
