The minimum age for driving a hire car in Guernsey is 21 and drivers must have held a full driving licence for a least 1 year.

The lead name on the booking will be confirmed as the named driver.  The named driver must present a credit card in their name when collecting the car (credit cards in other names will not be accepted).

The named driver must also present a full valid driving licence on collection of the vehicle and in some cases a credit card or cash deposit will be required.

Please ensure that you check your car hire documents carefully once received as this will advise if there are any taxes/charges to be paid locally as well as potential mileage restrictions.

Car Rental Terms
The following compulsory items are payable locally:
- Your vehicle will be supplied with some fuel in the tank, for which you will be charged - this is non-refundable
- Collision Damage Insurance (with an excess level according to the vehicle group between £700-1200) - from £10 per day
- Licence and fees - £2 per day
- Drop off or pick up at hotel - £5 each way

Optional Extras:
- Collision Damage Excess Waiver reduces the liability to nil - from £10 per day
- Personal Accident Cover - £1 per day
- Rental includes one driver, extra drivers can be added from £5 per day
- Baby seats are available on request - £5 per day
- Child seats are available - £5 per day
- Booster seats - £2.50 per day

Please consider carefully any additional extras and optional insurances which may have been offered at the time of collecting the vehicle. Fuel, CDW and license fees are compulsory charges, which are payable locally, whereas optional extras are not compulsory and remain at each individual client's discretion as to whether you purchase them.

Age Restrictions:
- Drivers must be 21-79 years of age for group A to C and 25-75 for all other groups. Drivers aged 80+ and up to 89 years of age are permitted to hire cars in group A to C only, provided the following daily supplements are paid locally to the rental company.
- Drivers aged 85-89 - £10.50 per day
- A credit card or debit card and valid driver's license are required on collection
- You will need to present your photocard license (or paper license) on collection of your vehicle. The rental company reserves the right to check your full license details via the DVLA website, and you may be asked to complete a simple, online application at the desk to facilitate this.
