Day 01:  AIRPORT /NEGOMBO (Approx Transfer time: 20 Minutes)
Arrival at Colombo International Airport. Here, you will be met by a professional guide to transfer to the fishing village of Negombo.

Negombo is a characteristic fishing town north of Colombo and is a mere 15 km from the international airport. Set amidst lush groves of coconut palms, it breathes the spirit of the sea. Negombo is a gourmet paradise with sea food in plenty. Old - world fishing craft, like the outrigger canoe and the catamaran, bring seer, skipjack, herring, mullet, pomfret and amber jack, while lobster and prawn are caught in the lagoon.

OVERNIGHT AT ACCOMMODATION AT THE JETWING BEACH, NEGOMBO

Day 02:    NEGOMBO/ PINNAWALA / SIGIRIYA            
After breakfast leave for the Pinnawala Elephant orphanage  (Approx Transfer time: 2- 2 ½ HRS)
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is the home for young Elephants who have been displaced or lost from their natural habitat, located at Pinnawala village in Sabaragamuwa province of Sri Lanka. Pinnawela Elephan t Orphanage is the best place for an up close and personal experience with the world’s largest land mammals!  Today with 70 elephants herein, Pinnawela has become the home to the largest captive group of elephants in the world.  Feeding time at 1:15 pm.

Thereafter proceed to Sigiriya and check into hotel  (Approx Transfer time: 2- 3 HRS)

Day 03:    SIGIRIYA / MINNERIYA / SIGIRIYA            
After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Sigiriya, where you could climb the 1200 steps and admire the fabulous frescoes on the walls of the ancient rock fortress.

The Sigiriya Rock Fortress is known as the 8th wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered a pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare was the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya 5th century water gardens to their former glory.

Thereafter proceed on a Jeep Safari at Minneriya National Park (Approx Transfer time: 1- 1 ½ HRS)
Minneriya National Park located between Habarana and Polonnaruwa is the 8890 hectares of Minneriya National Park which is an ideal eco-tourism location in Sri Lanka. The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka's favorites such as sambar deer, leopards and elephants. However the central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 3rd century AD by King Mahasena). This tank is generally known as a place to observe the elephants that come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds that come to fish in the shallow waters.

Return to hotel.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION THE ALIYA RESORT, SIGIRIYA

Day 04:  SIGIRIYA / DAMBULLA / MATALE / KANDY            
After breakfast leave for Kandy en route visit Dambulla Cave Temple – (Approx Transfer time: 30 - 40 Mins)

A vast isolated rock mass- it was here that king Valagambahu took refuge in the 01st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceiling found here are over 2000 years old and is the largest area of painting found in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.

Thereafter visit the Spice gardens in Matale (Approx. Transfer time: 1 – 1 ½  Mins)

Matale is famous for its batik production and spice gardens. Batik has been an ancient art of painting cloth and today Sri Lanka is among the world leaders in the design of batik. Batik galleries and factories offer batik from simple single-colored designs to intricate multi-colored masterpieces. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka's celebrated exports. Spices are mostly grown in home gardens (as a home industry) and used not only to flavor food but also for medicine and cosmetics.

Thereafter proceed to Kandy and check into hotel (Approx. Transfer time: 1 – 1 ½ HRS)

Kandy is a lovely city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings retains an aura of grandeur, which time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned "Temple of the Tooth". Kandy and its satellite villages is the centre of the island’s handicraft industry and its traditional dances are the most spectacular in the country.
Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site partly due to the temple.

Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION THE CINNAMON CITADEL, KANDY

Day 05: KANDY
After breakfast leave for the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya  (Approx Transfer time: 30 - 40 Mins)

The gardens were founded in 1821 primarily to introduce coffee trees and various other tropical plants of economic importance to the region. Even after it took on a more botanical emphasis in the 1840s, the garden remained a centre for horticultural activities. Under the directorship of the botanist George H.K. Thwaites, the garden played a pivotal role in establishing the country’s flourishing tea industry in the late 1870s. Thwaites also brought in and cultivated the Brazilian rubber tree, which became a crop producer vital to Sri Lanka’s economy. The botanical collection has developed into one of the finest in the region.

Thereafter in the late afternoon in, make a visit to The Temple of the Tooth Relic is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha.

After that witness a Cultural Dance performance in the evening. These classical dance forms are associated with the performance of various rituals and ceremonies which are centuries old and are based on the folk religion and folk beliefs going back to times before the advent and acceptance of Buddhism by the Sinhalese people in the third century B.C. Return to the Hotel.

Upon completion return to you hotel and have the rest of the evening at leisure.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION THE CINNAMON CITADEL, KANDY

Day 06: KANDY / WASKADUWA  (Approx Transfer time: 4 – 5 HRS)
After breakfast drive down to the south west for you beach stay in Waskaduwa.

Check into your hotel for Lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
DINNER AND OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION AT THE CITRUS WASKADUWA, WASKADUWA  

Days 07- 10: WASKADUWA
Breakfast and Lunch at hotel, spend the full day at leisure by the beach or enjoy the facilities of the hotel.

Day 11: WASKADUWA /AIRPORT  (Approx Transfer time: 2 - 2 ½ HRS)
