Arrival at Colombo International Airport on flight. After the formalities at the airport you will be escorted to your air conditioned vehicle. Next, transfer to your hotel in Habarana and check-in to hotel. Set on the tranquil banks of the magnificent Kandalama Lake, this showpiece resort captures the essence of Sri Lankan design, culture and tradition. Enjoy lush tropical gardens against a dramatic backdrop while uplifting, catchy raban melodies welcome you.

After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Sigiriya, where you could climb the 1200 steps and admire the fabulous frescoes on the walls of the ancient rock fortress.
The Sigiriya Rock Fortress is known as the 8th wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered a pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare was the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya 5th century water gardens to their former glory. On completion visit Minneriya National Park. (Approx. 01 - 01 ½ hrs drive)
Located between Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa, Minneriya is yet another haven for the elephants that migrate from surrounding jungles to enjoy the lush grass fields on the banks of the Minneriya reservoir, during the dry season (July August is the best season to visit Minneriya National Park). Reports of elephant sightings range from an impressive 100 to 200. Endemic monkeys as well as many resident and migratory bird species also can be spotted along with endemic reptiles such as the painted-lip lizard. Among the reptiles that dwell here, are the saltwater crocodile, the Indian python and the water monitor.
The central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 3rd century AD by King Mahasena). This tank is generally known as a place to observe the elephants that come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds (cormorants and painted storks to name but a few) that come to fish in the shallow waters

After breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Dambulla Cave Temple.(Approx. Transfer time: 15 - 20 Mins)
A vast isolated rock mass- it was here that king Valagambahu took refuge in the 01st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceiling found here are over 2000 years old and is the largest area of painting found in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.
On completion proceed to Kandy.
En route make a visit to a Spice Garden in Matale. (Approx Transfer time: 1 - 1.5 HRS)
Matale is famous for its batik production and spice gardens. Batik has been an ancient art of painting cloth and today Sri Lanka is among the world leaders in the design of batik. Batik galleries and factories offer batik from simple single-colored designs to intricate multi-colored masterpieces. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka's celebrated exports. Spices are mostly grown in home gardens (as a home industry) and used not only to flavor food but also for medicine and cosmetics. Thereafter continue to Kandy.(Approx Transfer time: 1 - 1.5 HRS)
Kandy is a lovely city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings retains an aura of grandeur, which time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center, it is the site of the renowned "Temple of the Tooth". Kandy and its satellite villages is the center of the island’s handicraft industry and its traditional dances are the most spectacular in the country.

After breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Royal Botanical Gardens. This was originally the King’s own royal pleasure garden that was later converted in to a botanic garden and opened to the public. At the Royal Botanical Gardens at ‘Peradeniya’ you could treat your eyes to an amazing, wide and rare collection of tropical and temperate, exotic and indigenous flora, and an orchid house with the largest collection in Asia.
Thereafter in the late afternoon in, make a visit to The Temple of the Tooth Relic is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha.
After that witness a Cultural Dance performance in the evening. These classical dance forms are associated with the performance of various rituals and ceremonies which are centuries old and are based on the folk religion and folk beliefs going back to times before the advent and acceptance of Buddhism by the Sinhalese people in the third century B.C. Return to the Hotel. On completion proceed to Colombo.
Sri Lanka’s commercial capital and the largest city with the highest population, Colombo is situated in the Western Province. It is a fascinating town which has a blend of eastern and western cultures where all colors of the island are drawn together. Many visitors appreciate the city’s colonial heritage and enjoy the vast range of fine shopping and dining outlets that can be located within the rush of its urban buzz.

Today after breakfast you will be transferred to the Colombo Airport to catch your flight to continue to your beach stay in Maldives accompanied with all the happy memories of the tropical isle; Sri Lanka. On arrival to the Airport of Maldives you will be transferred to your hotel by sea plane. (45 minutes minimum per way).
