Day 1: Airport/Habarana
Upon your arrival at Colombo International airport, you'll be warmly welcomed by one of our representatives. Then, you'll be transferred to the hotel through an air-conditioned vehicle (4 - 5 hours approximate travel time from Airport to Habarana.)
(Standard check-in is at 2pm. Early check-in is subject to availability on day of arrival.)
Dinner and overnight accommodation at Oakray Elephant Lake, Sigiriana Resort, or similar
Day 2: Habarana / Sigiriya / Habarana
Today, with a packed breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya (30 - 45 minutes approximate travel time from Habarana - Sigiriya.)
Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is known as the eighth wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the fifth century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than eighteen years.
In a sheltered pocket, led to by a spiral staircase, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare, was the site of the palace, and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice.
The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored the Sigiriya fifth-century water gardens to their former glory.
Return to the hotel and relax, with dinner and overnight accommodation at Oakray Elephant Lake, Sigiriana Resort, or similar.
Day 3 - 4: Polonnaruwa, Kandy & Hatton
Day 3: Habarana/Polonnaruwa/Habarana
Today after breakfast proceed to Polonnaruwa (45 minutes - 1 hour approximate travel time from Habarana to Polonnaruwa.)
Te architect of this lovely city is known to be the great King Parakrama Bahu. The remains of the Royal Citadel council chamber, prince’s bathing pool and the Gal Vihare, a stone temple with its colossal sculptures of the Buddha in a quiet grove of trees, are close by.
The still functioning Parakrama Samudra, a man-made reservoir, is a short distance away. The new museum has an excellent scale model of the ancient city as it was.
On completion proceed to Kaudulla National Park (45 minutes - 1 hour apporximate travel time from Polonnaruwa to Kaudulla.)
This is Sri Lanka's newest national park, wildlife reserve and ecotourism attraction. Situated around the ancient Kaudulla Wewa Reservoir, the national park provides a 6,656 hectare elephant corridor, only 6 km from off the main Habarana-Trincomalee road.
With fantastic opportunities to see many elephants at close range, the park has become a popular destination for wildlife safaris that also spot leopards, sambar deer and the occasional sloth bear! As an additional novelty, you can go for catamaran rides on the lake.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at Oakray Elephant Lake, Sigiriana Resort, or similar.
Day 4: Habarana/Kandy/Hatton
Today plan for an early start, after breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed to Hatton (1 and a half - 2 hours approximate travel time from Habarana to Kandy.)
Kandy, is one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful towns. Set 488 m above sea level, Kandy is Sri Lanka’s most visited place after Colombo. The focal point of the town is the golden-roofed ‘Dalada Maligawa’, where the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha is enshrined.
There are numerous shrines and temples in and around Kandy, where you'll see rare paintings, frescoes, and stone carvings.
On completion proceed to Hatton (2 to 3 hours approximate travel time.)
Hatton, set in the heart of tea-country, is a beautiful town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne.
Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh: a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

This city has the lowest temperatures of the whole country, being 2000m above the sea level. The climate, along with its mountain ranges, has given way to large tea plantations, vegetable and fruit plantations.
Named 'little England' as a result of the houses and other buildings built by the British during their time of reign, many of these buildings follow English architectural styles and still remain in their original condition.
