S'Algar —
Discover the art of laidback Mediterranean living on the sun-bleached shores of Menorca. The easternmost Balearic island is traditionally more low-key than neighbouring Mallorca or Ibiza, but that doesn’t mean it has any less to offer.
Its two cities, Anglo-Spanish Maó to the east and western maze-like Ciutadella are delightfully distinctive, and sands and bays studding its 216 km coastline are among the loveliest in the Mediterranean.
Inland, the island remains mostly rural with whitewashed villages separated by rolling hills. In 1993, the island was declared a Biosphere Reserve, aiming to preserve natural areas such as the wetlands and the mysterious Bronze Age sites, making it the perfect spot for any nature enthusiasts.
