Discover the city's highlights with a trip to the amazing Kremlin, a treasure house of magnificent art, after which you can walk along Arbat Street, created in the 15th century, thus laying claim to being one of the oldest surviving streets of the capital.
Discover the sights, history & legacy of Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan whose name literally means 'melting pot' in Tatar. Every way you look there are majestic minarets and colourful domes, creating an eclectic city that can't help but draw you in. Take a grand city tour of 'Old Kazan', followed by a visit to the Kazan Kremlin and a delicious lunch of Tartar cuisine.
Welcome to the capital of the Urals: this is the site of everything from the last days the Russian Imperial Empire to legendary gangster wars. Marvel at the opulence of the Russian Orthodox churches, with their gold encrusted walls and brightly coloured domes, it's not hard to see why these structures are widely considered to be the pearls of Russian construction. Visit the Europe/Asia boundary where you can stand with one foot in each continent!
Called the 'Paris of Siberia', the classic wooden architecture & soaring spires certainly remind you of a western city. Today is dedicated to experiencing this historic city, from the visiting the Decembrist House (named in honour of the fleeing aristocrats) to the 'wooden lace' house, so named for its intricate design. You can easily spend the whole day wandering the pretty streets of the city.
The true highlight of this city is the Irkutskaya Sloboda district where you will be surrounded by lovingly reconstructed 19th-century houses. Your Siberian city break culminates with a trip to the Talsty ethnographic museum located in a picturesque spot on the right bank of the Angara River.

Your Trains —
Meals are not included on trains. Breakfast & hot meals can be served in your cabin on certain trains/routes.
Compartments include 2 or 4 berths & are a cosy little hideaway from which you can watch the inspiring countryside whizz past. With a table & wardrobe you'll have everything you'll need to traverse the great unknown. Toilets are located at either end of the car.
The train stops fairly regularly, every 4 hours, sometimes minutes, sometimes half an hour. During longer stops, you will have the opportunity to go down on the platform for some fresh air and stretch your legs. This is also the opportunity to buy some food.
Restaurant Cars
All long haul trains feature a dining car which features large panoramic windows that provide amazing vistas whilst passengers enjoy traditional cuisine.

Once you have received your letter of invitation, you will need to apply for a visa.
