Day 2: Lima - Visit to the City
After breakfast at the hotel, explore Lima's old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fascinating historic buildings. Start with a scenic tour in the colonial downtown, which originates and spreads out from the Main Square, where you can appreciate the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire. Be amazed by Lima's Cathedral, built during the 16th century and took over 80 years to complete. Then visit the Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by chief conquistador Francisco Pizarro to Jeronimo de Aliaga, one of his captains. This is the only house from that time that is still owned by the same family through the centuries. Continue to the Larco Museum, located in the traditional Pueblo Libre district, which is housed in a beautifully restored vice regal mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid from the VII century. The museum boasts the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver objects, as well as pieces of erotic art. The tour may end at the Larcomar Shopping Centre or at your hotel. Overnight at a selected hotel in Lima.

Day 3: Paracas
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you transfer from the selected hotel to the bus station. A representative assists you during the journey. The transfer by bus from Lima to Paracas will be in a regular bus (shared service Spanish/English). After a four-hour journey, you will arrive in Paracas and then you will be transferred to your hotel.

Here you can choose the Nazca overflight as an optional extra.

Arrive at Pisco airport to board a flight of 1 hour and 30 minutes over the desert and observe the mysterious Nasca lines, which are best appreciated from the air. Nasca is a small town that perhaps would go unnoticed on a map if it were not for the unique lines engraved on the desert that give it worldwide fame. A monkey, a spider, a condor, all enlarged, can be seen from the sky, so you can try and decipher the mystery. If the weather conditions or airspace permit, the aircraft may fly over the recent findings in Palpa as well. After flying over its mountains, where marine fossils up to 150 million years old are found, the journey comes to an end. Finally, transfer to the hotel in Paracas, and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the selected hotel with breakfast in Paracas.

Day 4: Paracas - Lima/Ballestas Islands
After having breakfast, go to ´El Chaco´ Port, to take a tour to the Ballestas Islands, part of the Paracas National Reserve. This area is an extraordinary place due to its multiple attractions. It is a natural reserve with beautiful geological formations, impressive fauna and vestiges of a pre-Inca culture that dominated the desert which is regarded as a very successful community considering the adverse conditions. The Ballestas Islands are home to a large population of sea lions, Humboldt penguins and other species found in the archipelago, an ideal place for their reproduction and coexistence. You are transferred to in a regular bus (shared service Spanish/English) and then to your hotel. Overnight at selected hotel with breakfast in Lima.
Day 5: Lima - Cusco / Visit of the City and surroundings (90 min flight)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred from the hotel to Lima airport. Once you arrive at the airport of Cusco, a transportation service will be there transfer you to your hotel. A representative will inform you about the attractions and services that the city has to offer.

In the afternoon, start your tour today by visiting Coricancha, also known as 'The Temple of the Sun', which was built by order of Inca Pachacuti and, upon the arrival of the Spaniards became the foundation for the construction of the Santo Domingo Convent. During the Inca Empire, the god sun was worshipped and there was a time when the structure was covered in gold. Next, visit the Cathedral, the most important monument of the Plaza de Armas square, the construction of the cathedral took almost 100 years to complete, beginning in the mid-16th century. Hundreds of stones were extracted and transported from Sacsayhuaman fortress under the command of the Ecclesiastical Council to use for the construction of the church.

Continue your tour to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, one of the most emblematic buildings of the Incas, located just minutes away from the town centre, also built by Inca Pachacuti in the 15th century. It is an immense fortress built with large stones, and their transportation and assembly remain a mystery. Every June 24th, the festival of Inti Raymi, in which the sun is worshipped, is recreated during the winter solstice. Continue to Qenqo, an archaeological complex mainly for religious purposes, where agricultural rituals were held. To conclude, visit Puca Pucara, seven kilometres from the city. Puca Pucara, meaning 'red fort,' was an architectural complex of alleged military use with multiple environments, plazas, baths, aqueducts, and towers. It is believed that it was used by the Inca entourage while the leader rested in Tambomachay. When finished, return to the hotel. Overnight at the selected hotel with breakfast in Cusco.
Day 6: Cusco - Ollantaytambo Station - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Following breakfast at the hotel, a transportation picks you up from your hotel and transfers you to Ollanta Station. Your tour to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes. This town is also known as "Machu Picchu Pueblo" and is the last stop before the entrance to the most important archaeological site in Peru. In Aguas Calientes you can see the train station, a crafts market, restaurants and accommodation of different categories for those who prefer to spend the night at the foot of the mountain and climb it early. Finally, after a short transfer, reach Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that is believed served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca Pachacuti. Machu Picchu, which means "Old Mountain", is considered a World Heritage by UNESCO and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. At the end of the tour, return by bus to Aguas Calientes and have lunch at local restaurant. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure and then take your train back to Cusco. Overnight at the selected hotel with breakfast in Cusco.
Day 7: Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel and a day at leisure to explore on your own. Overnight at the selected hotel with breakfast in Cusco.

Day 8: Cusco - Depart Lima (90 Min Flight)

Half day Maras & Moray

Your Optional Excursions

Your day from Cusco includes a visit of about an hour and a half of the terraces of Moray and salt mines of Maras. The archaeological remains of Moray are composed of a mysterious circular concentric terraces which, according to some scholars, would be an agricultural research center. The higher outdoor terraces have higher temperatures and so the Incas could simulate the various ecological conditions of the empire. Maras is a surreal view. It is an impressive complex of salt marshes that dates back to the pre-Inca era. The enormous amounts of salt extracted have been used as a bargaining chip for the products of other parts of the empire.

Included: Entry to Maras and transfers to / from Cusco

Balcon del Diablo

Your Optional Excursions
Morning transfer from your hotel to the Sacsayhuaman site. From here you will start the hike to Chacán, also known as Balcón del Diablo. The hike continues to Zone X, known for its mysterious labyrinths of rock. After lunch en route, you will visit the Temple of the Moon where you will learn more about the Andean cosmovision and its connection with the stars and the forces of nature. Then you will explore the archaeological complex of Cusilluchayoc. The return to Cusco is made following the route of the old Inca road that went to Antisuyo. You will enter the city through San Blas, an area known for its talented craftsmen, where the hike ends.

Included: packed lunch and transfers to / from Cusco
