Your 9-Night Myanmar Tour Itinerary —
During your tour, you will follow the itinerary as seen below.
Welcome to Yangon! Upon your arrival at Yangon International Airport, your guide will transfer you to your hotel. Check-in to your hotel after 2pm and enjoy a free welcome drink at your hotel.

Transfer to Yangon airport, then fly to Mandalay. Mandalay (1 million inhabitants), was the last Burmese capital before the English arrived and made Rangoon the first city of the country. Mandalay is still the centre of Burmese culture. The city is named after the hill that peaks 236 m, located at the North-East of the Royal Palace. Mandalay is also the most "Burmese" city in Myanmar, surrounded by the four ancient cities of Amarapura, Sagaing, Ava and Mingun.
The Mahamuni Pagoda, one of the most honoured Buddha statues in the country, is completely covered with gold leaf. The Kuthodaw Pagoda, nicknamed as the “World’s Biggest Book” for its collection of 729 marble plaques in which the Buddhist teachings are inscribed. The Shwenandaw Monastery, the “Golden Monastery”, built entirely of teak wood and decorated with beautiful panels and remarkable wood carvings.
Your first day will end with the sunset show admired from Mandalay Hill.

After your breakfast, departure to the famous archaeological site of Bagan. First, you will take the road at first to Pakkoku, a quiet little town. You'll visit the village of Ma U which makes incense sticks. Visit the fabulous site of Kya Su Gyin, still unknown. This set of pagodas each inhabited by a Buddha, erected between the sixteenth and eighteenth century is located in the heart of a desert landscape. Arrival and stroll through the market.
Then embark on a 2-hour cruise on the Chindwin River where you will discover the most amazing site of South-East Asia from your boat. Cruise to Bagan, on the Irrawaddy River.

Enjoy a full day of excursions to discover Myanmar’s greater wonder: Bagan. After breakfast, begin your visit with a stop at the colourful Nyaung Oo Market where everyday locals come to buy and sell fresh produce and other goods. You will discover the local smells and flavors that the inhabitants will be happy to make you taste. Your guide will explain you the herbs and vegetables used in local daily dishes.
You will visit Ananda Temple, one of Bagan's most beautiful temples and an architectural masterpiece. Then, you will visit one of Myanmar most treasured handicrafts, a lacquer-ware workshop and Myinkaba village. You will be chauffeured to the highest temple of Bagan: Thatbyinyu where your horse carriage driver will be waiting for you. You will travel by carriage along ancient temples. (2 passengers per carriage).

You will take a scenic drive to Kalaw via the Mount Popa. On the road, you will visit a small factory of sweets and palm alcohol. You will have the chance to taste some of their local handmade products. You will walk through these plantations of palm trees and you will see the farmers skillfully climb up the palm trees in order to harvest fruits.
You will drive off to Mount Popa, the flower mountain. The Mount Popa is an extinct volcano at 1,520 m above sea level. It became the spiritual home of the colourful ‘nat’ (pre-buddhist). The main attraction is not the monastery of Mount Popa itself (with more than 800 steps under the sun, only a few tourists have the courage to climb up), it is the small museum devoted to the Nats. But, if you have the courage to the mount your reward will be the superb view of the surrounding Burmese countryside...
You’ll continue your route to Kalaw. On arrival, settle down at the hotel and relax.

Breakfast at the hotel. High up in western Shan State, Kalaw is a former British hill station with a laid-back atmosphere, refreshing climate, and scenic views. Many of Kalaw’s original colonial-era buildings remain. Then, you will be chauffeured to Pindaya. Pindaya is located at 1600 meters above sea level, at the foot of a lake surrounded by mountains. Upon your arrival at Pindaya, you'll get a detailed look at the making of the famous Shan paper and beautiful Burmese umbrellas at a local umbrella factory.
Continue the day by visiting the Pindaya caves, where you will discover more than 8,000 Buddha images made of alabaster, teak, marble, brick and cement, gilded or painted white and some were carved from the rock. Then, you’ll be transferred to Nyaung Shwe jetty and take a private pirogue to reach your hotel.

Day 7: Inle Lake
Enjoy a full day excursion on the lake. Board your traditional motorized pirogue. You will pass through villages built on stilts over the lake, inhabited by the local Intha people. You can observe the unique one-leg rowing of Intha People who live in bamboo stilt houses in the waters.
You will visit one of Inle Lake’s most popular and picturesque sights the famous five-day floating market, so-called as it migrates from one rustic lakeside village to another on a five-day rota system. Then, enjoy Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery, which houses dozens of Shan Buddha Images, but is more famous for its unique ‘jumping cats’ that jump through hoops in the air!
Next, you will visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, famous for the 800 years old Five Buddha images which are covered in gold leaf. Then you can explore the local crafts at the weaving village of Inpawkhone and at the cheroot factory where they make the Burmese cigars by hand. Return to your hotel by motorized pirogue.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will head to the Pa-Oh Indein village located on the western shores of Inle Lake. Enjoy a walk through the village before climbing up the hill with foam-covered stairs. At the top, you will be greeted by a Buddha amidst many stupas and groves. From the summit, you will also be rewarded with magnificent views of the surroundings.
The religious complex of Indein is undoubtedly one of the most impressive sites of the shores of the lake. It is composed of hundreds of small stupas covered with mosses and greenery. Return to your hotel. Free time at your leisure.

Breakfast at the hotel. You’ll be transferred to Heho airport for your flight to Yangon. Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is Myanmar's largest city and most important commercial centre. Yangon is located at the convergence of the Yangon and Bago Rivers about 30 km (19 mi) away from the Gulf of Martaban, in the Andaman sea.
In the afternoon, visit Bogyoke Aung San Market (former Scott’s Market), where shopper’s favourite you can browse through the wide selection of Myanmar handicrafts and other goods. (Note: Market is closed on Mondays and public holidays). Free time for the last shopping.
Late in the afternoon, you will visit the Shwedagon Pagoda one of the wonders of the world. Enjoy watching the breathtaking views of the golden stupa.

Day 10: Yangon
Depart With Guide and transport. Breakfast at the hotel. Free Day then transfer to Yangon airport.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you transfer by boat to Nyaung Shwe, by road to Heho airport (1h) and by flight to Thandwe. Arrive and transfer to your hotel in Ngapali before enjoying free time.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Thandwe airport for domestic flight to Yangon. Arrival at Rangoun. In the afternoon, visit the Bogyoke market known as Scott Market. Its 2,000 boutiques offer the largest selection of crafts and typical Burmese objects from all over the country: fabrics, precious stones (jade, rubies and sapphires), wickerwork and bamboo braids, lacquers, puppets and antiques.
