Tsavo National Park

The joint mass of Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks forms one of the largest national parks in the world and covers a massive 4% of Kenya's total land area.  

Tsavo East, one of the last great wilderness landscapes on Earth, offers a vast arena of parched scrub and heat-shimmering bush, which is washed by the azure waters of the Galana River, guarded by the Yatta Plateau and patrolled by some of the largest elephant herds in the world.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

Taita Hills Sanctuary is a private wildlife conservancy of 28,000 acres at the foot of the Taita Hills bordering Tsavo West National Park, one of the world's largest game reserves. 

The Sanctuary provides a safe environment to over 50 species of mammals and 300 species of birds within 28,000 acres of rolling savanna and woodland habitats. Large numbers of wildlife come to drink at the waterholes, so Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge provides a rare opportunity to view animals at close proximity in their natural habitat. 

The Sanctuary is a success story in sustainable conservation where wildlife - including elephant, lion, buffalo and giraffe - thrive. Game drives are tightly controlled to ensure that animals are not harassed and some areas are completely closed to vehicles. This commitment to responsible ecotourism, which has been so well supported by visitors, ensures that the Sanctuary and all its wildlife will continue to prosper.

Day 1 Mombasa – Taita Hills (210 kms /5h)
Arrival in Mombasa airport in the morning (by latest 11h00am) and drive to Taita Hills. Upon arrival in Taita Hills you will check in in your room at Sarova Taita Hills lodge.Depending on flight arrival lunch will be either picnic lunch or served at the lodge.Afternoon at leisure around the pool. Day 2: Taita Hills
06h30/08h00 Early morning game drive followed with breakfast. Morning at leisure. Lunch at the lodge 16h00/18h00 Afternoon game drive in Taita Hills sanctuary followed with a sundowner or bush dinner (this is added value and subject to weather condition).Dinner and Overnight Sarova Taita Hills 

Day 3: Taita Hills – Tsavo East –Taita Hills

Day 4: Taita Hills 
Early morning game drive in Taita Hills then breakfast at the lodge. Morning visit World War 1 Museum. Lunch Taita Hills. Afternoon at leisure around the pool.16h00/18h00 Afternoon game drive in Taita Hills sanctuary. 19h30 Transfert to Sarova Salt Lick for diner at the lodge. The entire lodge is raised on stilts, overlooking a salt slick and small waterhole where animals can be spotted throughout the day and night.Overnight Sarova Taita Hills

The below accommodation is based on a Standard Room with Full Board dining (Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant - excludes drinks).

Please note: You will have to proceed with check out when you embark on your safari. However, you'll be able to leave some of your luggage at the reception/concierge desk whilst on your safari. 

Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge

Overlooking Tsavo park, the Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge is the ideal respite from the exhilarating safari. The inhouse restaurant serves Indian and American cuisine. 

Rooms are spacious and have all the necessary modern conveniences. A beautiful free-form swimming pool is open all day to guests, for a moment of relaxation in between amazing visits to the peerless wildlife. There is also a museum featuring WWI memorabilia, should you fancy a history lesson.

Flights: You may choose from Economy, Premium or Business class flights on sectors that they operate, at the next stage of the booking process.

The flights included are with either a scheduled or no-frills airline and are subject to live availability and prices can change. You can choose your preferred departure times during the booking process. Please select your flight options carefully as departure and arrival airports may differ.

Please note: If you are traveling to Mombasa via Nairobi, you need to collect your luggage at Nairobi airport to check it in again before taking your flight to Mombasa.

This flight may include one or more stops.
At the time of your reservation:

- If you choose a late arrival, you will check in to your room upon arrival and the duration of your stay will start from that evening.

- If you choose an overnight flight, you can only check in to your room at the hotel from 3 pm on the day of your arrival. The duration of your stay will begin from that day.

When choosing your return flight:

- If your flight is scheduled before 3 am, you will check out at 12 pm and will not be able to keep your room until you leave for the airport in the evening. Depending on your hotel's conditions, you may be able to leave your luggage at reception.

- If your flight is scheduled after 3 am, you can keep your room until you leave.

Transfers: Return shared transfers are included throughout this offer.

Entry Requirements 

You must ensure you have a valid passport to travel on. 

You need a visa to enter Kenya. You can either get a visa on arrival at the airport or before you travel. To minimise time spent queuing at the airport, get a visa before you travel.

You can apply for single entry and transit visas on the evisas website. For other types of visa, apply at the nearest Kenyan High Commission or Embassy. For more information on different types of visas see the website of the Kenya High Commission.

Health

If vaccinations or other preventive measures are required, you will need to visit your health professional at least 8 weeks before your trip.

Cholera, malaria, dengue fever and other insect-borne infections occur in Kenya. You should take precautions to avoid being bitten by insects.

You should drink or use only boiled or bottled water and avoid ice in drinks. Don’t eat food prepared by unlicensed vendors. See food and water hygiene.
