Your destinations —
Syracuse
The landscape of Sicily is beautiful and varied. In the north-east, Mount Etna, with its fertile slopes and valleys, supports a number of vineyards. In the south-east there are the beautiful forest-covered mountains; the landscape characterised by soft hills, with vineyards, olive groves, almond trees, citrus and the characteristic carob trees. To the west, the landscape becomes gentler with soft, rolling hills, and it is here one finds long sandy beaches. The weather is mild all year round and temperatures will not normally drop below 15 degrees, even in the coldest months.
Sicily is rightly considered one of the world’s most iconic travel destinations. It is the largest island in the Mediterranean and has long been known as a 'melting pot' of ancient cultures due to its location on the major Mediterranean shipping routes.
Syracuse is a city that combines rich architectural and cultural treasures with the charm of the ancient Sicilian countryside. Rich in Baroque architecture and witness to the splendour of Magna Graecia, it was conquered by Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and Normans, all of whom left an indelible mark on the city's culture.
Noto
Welcome to an island of delectable cuisine, vibrant culture, and dramatic, rocky coastlines. Sicily boasts a landscape abundant with art and nature. With Etna and the seas of Jonio, the baroque splendour of Noto (26km) and the beauty of Siracusa all within easy reach, you can explore an unforgettable territory brimming with stories of times past and present.
Admire Baroque treasures protected by Unesco in the beautiful town of Noto. Lose yourself in the elegant alleys of Ortigia (11km), in Siracusa. Breathe in the silence of the protected reserves and marine areas, (Cavagrande 25km and Plemmirio 11km).
This land inspires memorable adventures and discoveries for all. For those who wish to relax on the beaches, this is a paradise as there are many wonderful sandy spots to discover...
Modica
This is the perfect location for those who want all the trappings of a Mediterranean escape, with the culture and entertainment of a city nearby.
The stunning city of Modica and the district known as the "Sacred Heart" has plenty to offer, and not only for shoppers! It is also an ideal starting point from which to discover the magic world of the baroque-style old Modica Bass, just 2 miles away.
Whilst the cathedral in Modica was rebuilt following an earthquake in 1693, many parts of the city have their roots in the Middle Ages. The city of Modica has some of the most beautiful Baroque architecture in Sicily. Meanwhile, there are several beaches on the nearby coast to enjoy.
