Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival
Welcome to Iceland
Check in at your hotel in Reykjavik City and get comfortable for your 3 or 4 night stay in Iceland.
Explore the brand new ice tunnel in Langjokull Glacier
After nearly five years of study, planning, modelling and careful preparation by top engineers, and advice from world-renowned geo physicist with expert level knowledge of glaciers, we can now allow you to explore the Langjokull ice tunnel, located high on Europe’s second largest glacier!
The Langjokull Ice tunnel is the world’s first and biggest man made Ice Cap Glacier tunnel.
This adventurous, once in a lifetime journey to the heart of an Ice Cap Glacier, starts with a bus ride to the area of Borgarfjordur. On the way to the edge of the glacier you'll stop and witness natural phenomena such as Deildartunguhver, the largest hot spring area in Europe, and Hraunfossar Waterfalls, a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets streaming over a distance of about 900 metres out of a lava field.
When you reach Langjokull glacier, it's time to board a monster 8 wheel glacier truck to reach the entrance of the ice cave. During the excursion within the glacier itself you'll see colours of blue you never knew existed, and learn how glaciers hide the secrets of history.
After an approximately 50 minute visit within the glacier, it's time to head back to Reykjavik but this time through the Kaldidalur highland track, including a visit at Thingvellir National Park where you'll encounter an amazing scenery.
Combine history, natural phenomena and relaxation
Spoil yourself by bathing in the famous Blue Lagoon on your visit to Iceland. You‘ll have a transfer to Blue Lagoon. The Lagoon is a unique formation; a lagoon with pleasantly warm mineral-rich geothermal water in a middle of a black lava field. The high natural levels of silica and minerals give the Lagoon its rich blue colour. The facilities include modern changing rooms and showers, an indoor geothermal pool, a winter garden, restaurants and other services. After having enjoyed all that the Blue Lagoon has to offer, you can will return to Reykjavík.
In the evening you will enjoy Northern Lights Hunt jeep tour. This Northern Lights tour in Iceland takes you in a super Jeep out of town, far from the city lights to observe this fascinating natural phenomenon also known as Aurora Borealis. Given clear skies and a little bit of luck, sightings can occur from autumn through to spring.
Please note: The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings can never be guaranteed. Usually, we can see beforehand how likely it is that the tour is a success, e.g. by using weather forecasts.
Explore the fascinating capital with this free day
As the northernmost capital in the world Reykjavik enjoys a unique atmosphere few other cities can match. A short break to Reykjavik, Iceland's capital is many people's first experience of Iceland. Taking a Reykjavik city break can be as lively or laid back as you require, take a day trip along Iceland's South Shore, experience a trip in one of Iceland's Super Jeeps or meet some its most friendly marine life with some Whale Spotting.
Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura is located near Reykjavik’s domestic airport and Reykjavik's main beauty spot at Oskjuhlid Hill and Nautholsvik Arctic beach.
Day 5: Free day for leisure - departure
If your flight is in the afternoon, use your last moments in the country to walk along the harbour seafront and breathe the fresh Atlantic breeze - or if you still need to relax, visit one of the city's swimming pools. There you can chat with the locals while relaxing in the geothermal mist.
